Tranquil Casita Colibrí at Lush Oasis
Our charming cabin is a gem located on a tranquil piece of land, in the majestic Andean mountains and close to the pristine river Capa Maco. It has a small living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom on the first floor with a royal balcony where you can unwind in the hammock. The land is a powerful healing spot and is abundant of birds, fruit trees and fireflies that light up this place during the night. We have direct access to a natural spring for high energy and rejuvenating drinking water. The guesthouse is a simple, clean, beautiful and cozy place to stay for those who like a bit of adventure, nature, mountains, river, hiking and tranquility. There’s a great hot shower. All our guests have truly enjoyed their stay. It’s a relaxing spot. The kitchen is well equipped with modern conveniences. We offer basics like sea salt, black pepper, spring water and green tea. We also gift fresh fruits - when in season - of our land. Although surrounded by mountains, we have good internet on our land. From the riverside front door there’s a private path through the fruit orchard to the cottage. Though we have a rich and busy family life, we’d love to drink smoothie/tea/coffee together and share life stories, tips, experiences and recommendations to make your stay more enjoyable. We have a list with reliable taxi drivers available for you. We value your and our privacy. Our sacred land is located in the mountains and yet not too far from town where you can visit shops, restaurants and meet fellow travelers. Our home is 5 km from the centre which is 16 minutes by taxi. Our favorite places in town are: * Juice Factory (vegetarian soups, salads, health foods, pies, juices, smoothies and breakfast in weekends) - Open Tue-Sunday * United Falafel Organization (UFO; good coffee, delicious breakfast and lunch, cozy garden) - Open Wed-Sunday * El Mexicano (authentic, delicious Mexican food prepared by the owner's wife who was trained by Mexican mothers and grandmothers) * Rutas (delicious , hearty arepas-corn or plaintain, simple and cozy setting, Venezuelan touch) * La Casetta (best Italian, only thin crust pizzas from the wood oven) - Open Mon-Sunday, not Wed * ACWA (eco shop & cafe with health products, organic coffee, organic soap, etc) * Beverly Hills Cafe - Love the name! (good coffee, pies, chocolate, breakfast) * Sunday market near the bus terminal (great place to find fruits, veggies, etc., also increasing organic produce!) * Supermercado Marisol at Parque Central (she has the biggest assortment of products) * Layseca’s Cafe (breakfast/lunch, quiet spot to enjoy homemade pies and good espresso) - Open Tue-Sunday * Belgian Chocolatier Paramo (various chocolate, cookies, ice-cream and coffee to go) - Open Wed-Sunday * French Bakery (real croissants, pains au chocolat, bread, cinnamon rolls, friands, breakfast too) - Open Wed-Sunday From our land to town is about 16 minutes by taxi ($5) or a pleasant 1 hour walk down. You could also walk to the first wooden bridge (12-15 minutes) and take a taxi from there. This ride takes 10 minutes ($2). This is what we always do. ¡Importante! Bring fresh supply of groceries with you for the first days; our land is not close to town. There’s no street light on the walking path/road to our land. Bringing a flash light is recommended; Dusk falls between 6:15-6:45pm.
