Direct flights have also been expanded to include American departing from Miami, and United Airlines departing from Chicago, Houston, Newark, and Washington, DC (IAD). Additional flights from Atlanta, Charlotte, and Baltimore will be added in March. Current travel requirements include: -- Pre-register travel and vaccination status with Travel Cayman. A certificate of travel will be required for all members of your group for entry. -- Unvaccinated children ages 11 and younger will assume the vaccination status of their traveling adult/guardian. -- All travelers, ages 5 and above, must provide proof of a negative rapid test taken no earlier than the day before arrival. Your home country may require pre-departure testing for your return flight. Be sure to know your country’s testing requirements in advance. The quarantine period for unvaccinated travelers has been reduced from 10 to 7 days. This grand oceanfront gated estate with a private pool is conveniently located 20 minutes from the airport in a planned residential community called Beach Bay. The dozen or so larger homes along this rugged coastline share the key amenity of the neighborhood: a wonderful sandy beach cove with protected swimming and excellent snorkeling (a 5-minute walk). While each villa offers panoramic elevated views and privacy, each has access to the sandy white beach. Our guests report seeing lobster, octopus, and teeming juvenile fish on the coral heads. The main 6 bedroom villa features a wrap-around porch that offers a full-day respite from the Caribbean sun plus shaded areas for enjoying a good read, morning yoga sessions, breakfast, or sunset viewings. With heavy landscaping on both sides of the property, On The Rocks provides guests privacy and quiet during their stay. The large freshwater pool has a wide sundeck with lounge chaises as well as a cabana for outdoor dining. A zoysia grass lawn feels cool on bare feet and the estate has many mature palm trees to offer additional shade. Outdoor dining tables include a 6-top near the house and a 4-top in the pool cabana. There are 6 lounge chaises around the pool deck and 2 chaises on the master suite balcony. An outdoor sectional sofa is shaded by the covered veranda. Architecturally, the design and flow of the house is low-country plantation-style with transom windows, a wrap-around porch, window shutters, and a central living room opening to the pool area. There is an enormous parking area and access to the garage. Bedroom & Bathroom Layout (Sleeps 14 guests total**) -- Oceanfront Master Suite: Upstairs suite with a king bed, TV, balcony, and an ensuite bath. -- Queen Suite #1: Upstairs suite with a queen bed and an ensuite bath. -- Queen Suite #2: Optional Over the garage suite with a queen bedroom, kitchenette, living room with a TV, and an ensuite bath. -- Guest Bedroom #1: Upstairs bedroom with a queen bed and a shared bath with the twin bedroom. -- Guest Bedroom #2: Main level bedroom with a queen bed and a shared bath with the other queen bedroom. -- Guest Bedroom #3: Main level bedroom with a queen bed and a shared bath with the other queen bedroom. -- Guest Bedroom #4: Upstairs bedroom with two twin beds and a shared bath with the upstairs queen bedroom. The owner also offers an optional guest apartment suite above the garage offering a private suite for those who prefer to be under a different roof (nannies, teenagers, snoring uncles, etc.). The guest suite comes furnished with a queen bed, kitchenette with fridge, tiled bathroom with shower, dining area, and a new large flat-screen TV with Apple TV and Xbox 360 (also plays DVDs). Separate A/C and water heater for the garage suite. *Notes: 1) A Cleaning Fee may be required due to enhanced cleaning, sanitation, and inspection protocols. 2) Silver Thatch tandem kayaks available for discounted rental. Signed waiver required. ================================ *** Cancellation Policy *** Should guests cancel outside of 60 days from arrival, half of the initial deposit, less a 3.50% processing fee, will be refunded to the card on file. Should we be able to rebook your canceled dates, in whole or in part, the other half of the deposit will be refunded, pro-rata, for each day rebooked. Should we be unable to replace your canceled dates, the balance of the remaining deposit is forfeited. Should guests cancel within 60 days, no refund will be offered unless the pandemic exception below applies. ==> PANDEMIC EXCEPTION: At 60 days from arrival or within, if the Cayman Islands are closed to tourism, require quarantine, or commercial flight options do not exist, you may either reschedule your stay for future dates or request to cancel with all payments refunded, less a 3.50% processing fee. We will also instruct VRBO to refund their service fee to the guest card on file. Our full cancellation policy can be viewed by clicking the Rental Agreement link under the House Rules section on the second checkout screen. ================================= ***Villa Cleaning & Sanitation*** -- We're committed to the health and safety of all our guests and have adopted enhanced cleaning safeguards to suppress the spread of COVID-19. All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival using health agency-approved cleaners and disinfectants. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products. -- Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival on-island. ***Rate Details*** -- 13% Occupancy Tax added to all rates. -- 10% Guest Service includes your Silver Thatch Membership. -- Owner requires a refundable cleaning and damages deposit of $1,500. -- We accept VISA, MC, Discover and Bank Wire for payments. ***Booking Rules*** -- 5 nights minimum stay required. -- 6 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Thanksgiving week. -- 7 nights minimum stay and full occupancy rate required over Christmas and New Year's week. -- Christmas & New Year's dates are split into two rental periods. Please inquire with your travel dates prior to booking. -- Shorter stays may be available but subject to a higher cleaning fee. Please inquire before booking. -- Owner does not permit local rentals or staycations. -- Must be 25 or older to book and must occupy the property during the entire stay. ***Beach Notes*** All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Queen owns up to the high watermark. Be advised, the beach or water entry behind your property may vary slightly from the images displayed due to weather. The next-door beach is also always available for your use. ***Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed*** Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally. Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency in recent years. Although sargassum is an unsightly nuisance, it is largely seasonal in summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival. Should sargassum be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation.
