Lightsome Living on the Cabot Trail
Right on the Cabot Trail in North Shore (about halfway between Baddeck and Ingonish), this room is a self-contained unit. Bright and spacious addition to the main building with high ceiling, and a separate entrance. A large, airy room features floor to ceiling windows with a view of the gardens, an en-suite bathroom, and a private entrance. It has a cozy four-poster king-size bed and an Ikea sofa that can be pulled out into a queen-size bed for extra guests. There is a table with chairs and a dresser, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a water cooker and a mini-fridge. (sorry, no BBQ) Baseboard heaters add comfort in the cooler season. You have a separate entrance leading off the driveway. There is a small patio with view of the ocean for you to enjoy the outdoors. I live in the main house and will gladly answer your questions. When I am not around, you can best reach me by e-mail. Have breakfast right at the ocean at the Clucking Hen Cafe about 2 minutes to the north. Visit some of the many artisan stores and studios like Jolene's Leather Works, North Shore Woodsmiths Studios, Glass Artisans Studio and Gallery, Wildfire Pottery or Colouratura Art Gallery, all within 5 to 10 minutes of your accommodation. Walk along the beach, watch lobster fishers haul in their catch, or have a swim at Little River Wharf, 5 min. to the North. The entrance to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park is about 35 min. drive. The park features beautiful hiking trails or you can swim in the ocean at Ingonish Beach. Ski Cape Smokey is about half an hour away.
