Wanstead Terrace is a popular well-developed residential West Coast neighbourhood, overlooking the ocean from a height. It is a 10min drive to Kensington Oval, perfect for events, cricket matches etc. Grocery Stores, Massy Supercentre at Warrens and Pricesmart is a 5min drive away, Esso Gas station & 24/7 TigerMart convenience store (with ATM machine) is also 5min drive away. There are three (3) types of Barbados transport options : a ZR Van, Minivan or a Bus at the end of our street on Wanstead Terrace (between 4th Ave and 6th Ave, and also between 6th Ave and 8th Ave). And to get back home you can always ask the driver if he is going to Wanstead. The buses are blue with a yellow stripe. Above the front windshield indicates the furthest point they travel to, and the drivers will tell you whether your stop is along their route. The Transport Board buses run from 5.30 am on weekdays, and 6 am on weekends, to as late as midnight. They tend to run every half hour from the main bus terminals on weekdays and approximately every hour on weekends. Check the timetables and route (Email hidden by Airbnb) to plan ahead. The fare is BBD 3.50 or 1.75 USD one way for adults. Drivers do not carry change so try to bring the correct fare. There are three Transport Board bus terminals: — Fairchild Street, Bridgetown (opposite Jordan’s Supermarket) — Princess Alice Terminal, Bridgetown (near the main Post Office) — Speightstown, St. Peter. There are bus stops marked ‘Out of City‘ and ‘To City‘ where you can catch these buses. Minibusses are smaller than the Transport Board buses and are bright yellow with a blue stripe. The fare is the same BBD 3.50. Their final destination is shown in the bottom left-hand corner of the windshield. There are also white ZR vans with a horizontal maroon stripe which you can also catch from the bus stops. The vans are numbered one through eleven – each number indicating a different travel route. There is a main van stand near the Post Office in Bridgetown. The fare is BBD 3.50 one way. You can always ask the driver or conductor if their particular route passes where you would like to go. Sometimes, the driver will even drop you at your destination also if it is not an official bus stop. Although there is no set timetable for these vans, ZR’s run more frequently than the buses, and until much later at night. Note: Much like the minibuses, drivers and conductors pile people in the vans in an attempt to make more money.
