Studio cottage with verandah overlooking our 5 acre hobby farm. The cottage has custom woodwork including stained glass windows and wide plank floors. The cottage has custom woodwork including stained glass windows and wide plank floors. There is a well equipped kitchenette and private bath with a restored claw foot tub (no stand up shower). The private verandah overlooks the acreage and is a great place to relax after a busy day. High speed internet is included and the cottage is within walking distance of the shops in Quathiaski Cove as well several hiking trails. Our hobby farm animals are all friendly and include a dwarf goat, and a small flock of hens (no roosters!) Our Mexican bred border collie cross "guards" the chickens from predators such as Bald Eagles. Besides the menagerie of animals our place is unique for the custom woodwork including hand-made stained glass windows, wide plank country floors and hooks and hangers fashioned from Arbutus. The bathroom features a restored claw foot tub. The kitchenette is compact, but we have been careful to fully equip it with all the utensils; even a cappuccino maker! Guests are welcome to wander the property and pasture and visit with the goats and chickens. There is a small pond that is frequented by deer and ducks. We usually let guests enjoy the privacy and quiet but are happy to give advice and maps on hiking trails and other "must see" or "must do" attractions on Quadra Island. We are a very rural neighbourhood of hobby farms but very close to the shops and restaurants of Quathiaski Cove. Quadra does not have public transit but there is a good taxi service and hitching is easy too. And we are happy to meet guests at the ferry landing. We have kept the rates very reasonable and think we offer among the best values on Quadra Island! Guest should be aware the cottage is on the second level and stairs are involved. Occupancy is limited to a maximum of 2 guests. Well behaved pets are permitted, with prior notice and approval. A fee of $10 per pet, per stay, is payable upon check-in. Maximum of 2 pets.
