Art at 185 German Village

Welcome to Art at 185, our studio apartment in the heart of German Village. This space has been created for guests to enjoy not only a stay in Historic German Village but also a display of local art, currently featuring works from Open Door Art Gallery, located in Grandview. (URL HIDDEN) Once a working art studio has now been turned into a cozy studio apartment walking distance from the fabulous restaurants in German Village, downtown Columbus and Children's Hospital. Art at 185 is bigger and better than it looks, it is quite spacious and you will not want to “judge the book by the cover .” This space was built in 1890’s and once a buggy/car mechanic garage . Currently the studio showcases original art created by Columbus artists. Founded in 2007, Open Door Art Studio empowers artists with disabilities to work with professional creative mentors in an environment of mutual respect and creative freedom. I also have several of my 92 year old father’s hand crafted birdhouses for sale . As my mom’s former working art studio, we did not want to lose sight of how this space was originally intended and are fortunate Open Door has agreed to use our space as a gallery. Guests will have access to the entire studio space. We live around the corner and are available to guest as needed to help make your stay comfortable. We expect communication during the stay either through Airbnb or cell phone. We are located in the heart of historic German Village, a quiet neighborhood on the southern edge of downtown Columbus. This quaint community allows you to walk to multiple restaurants, coffee shops, gift stores and park. We have free parking available to our guests in front of the studio. Our studio is within walking distance of the Columbus free downtown transport (CBUS) that will take you into downtown, the Short North and OSU Campus. You also have close access to the COTA bus system for a small fee. Our studio is located in a quiet neighborhood and we are very cognizant of our surrounding neighbors. Please no loud music. If you are looking to entertain or host a party this is NOT the place for you. Our Studio provides a queen size bed and we do not encourage anymore than 2 people staying at one time. We own/rent the property next door and live around the corner. We respect your privacy while here, but do check in with our neighbors to make sure all the rules are being followed. We have ROKU and internet but honestly most people who stay in the Studio are here to explore the neighborhood and enjoy All Columbus has to offer .
