Security gated, quiet and peaceful with a very short walk to the village square, market, bars and restaurants as well as old historic church of the village of Rio Grande. 150 years of "latin-cowboy tradition" lives in this town and the property is built on a piece of the old family ranch of many years prior. The main house patio & entrance overlooks a scenic view of two distant volcanoes. Enjoy the mangos at the right times of year as guests. Famous for breezes & temperate climate of Atenas. This house was built with couples or family living in mind. There is a comfortable one level interior which has quality construction, sturdy and new furniture and appliances. The patio deck is a pleasant way to sit with coffee or tea and read or converse while enjoying the view and pleasant weather. Has great breeze and temperate weather year long. If the right time of the year is booked, the guest is welcome to pick and eat from the many varieties of mango trees on the property in front of the casita guest house. A/C in each bedroom if you come during hot season, but otherwise minimally needed. A terminal cleaning service was added with your booking with AirBnB, however, you may choose to have cleaning service during your stay as well. This person can be arranged by your written request. This person is available for $20 daily for full service cleaning. We are a far enough away from the National Highway 27 to be peaceful and quiet, but conviently accessible. Several typical Costa Rica prepared food, ceviche bar and burger/fried chicken & even gourmet vegetarian restaurants are within a very short walk from the house as well as a grocery market, two taverns, and park gardens. Lovely fresh bakery goods are prepared daily in two bakery establishments within a 2 minute walk. A good auto repair shop is located nearby the property as well as a modern gasoline station with a miniMart and separate pharmacy by the connector road to the main highway 27 leading to the Pacific Ocean which is only 30 minutes away by car. Nearby bus stops give access to Central Atenas or choose to enjoy a 2 mile walk to the Friday Farmers vegetable Market located up the hill. Also walking distance is the historic train station across the bridge of highway (pista) 27. There is are 2 local bus stops within a 5 minute walk next to one of the bar/restaurants or by the park. There are frequent taxis traveling up the radial road leading to the central town of Atenas as well as to the fresh produce market which is conviently held every Friday at the top of the hill on the way to Atenas Centrale. Guests will have a gate activator and a security alarm activator that they are responsible to leave in the guest house upon checkout. Loss of either of these will result in a charge for replacement from their AirBnB security deposit.
