Casa Lula - Short Walk to Beach and All Amenities

Casa Lula is perfect for travelers with family or couples vacationing together. The spacious main house has 2 bedrooms, a large kitchen and bathroom. A separate casita (add $25 p/n) offers a 3rd bedroom with kitchenette and private bathroom. Enjoy the lush jungle and wildlife right from the patio.The property is nestled in a friendly beach neighborhood in the heart of Playa Chiquita. Amenities and beach access points are a short walk away and offer breathtaking scenery of the Caribbean coast. The property is located in a jungle setting, with a lush garden all around. The main house offers a spacious covered outdoor patio with a comfortable sitting area and outstanding view of the jungle. Relax in the hammock or share a meal at the dining table out here. Inside you'll find a large kitchen with breakfast bar which opens up onto the patio. The open air bathroom has a spa-like feel with it's walk-in, hot water shower and bidet. In this house there are two screened in bedrooms. The first offers a king sized bed for you to stretch out in and a small desk in case you need to work during your stay. The bright and airy second bedroom is accessed through the first bedroom and contains a bunk bed that would be perfect for the kids. All beds can be covered with mosquito nets for your comfort. For security measures, all doors lock and we provide you with a safe. The additional casita*, which is available for an additional fee, has one bedroom with a queen sized bed, screened windows, a mosquito net and a safe. The private bathroom has a hot water shower, sink and toilet. The space is cozy and secure, and offers plenty of natural light. The covered outdoor terrace makes up the kitchenette with a three burner hot plate, sink, mini refrigerator and ample prepping space. The sitting area overlooks the garden and you can rest here in comfortable chairs or relax in the hammock and watch the monkeys play above you. *Note: The casita is recommended for bookings of 4+ adults or upon request with an additional fee. The main house will sleep 2 adults in the king sized bed and 2 children (or 1 adult) in the bunk beds. If you wish to have the casita set up for more privacy, please request this prior to your reservation. For those of you who must work while travelling, this property has an internet speed of 10mbps through wifi. This is a private vacation home. You will be the only guests to access the property during your stay. Your hosts, Raina and Dave, are available through AirBnB messaging and WA. We recommend you download these apps to use during your trip. WA is widely used for taxis, restaurants and tours. Casa Lula is located 6kms south of Puerto Viejo, in the quaint beach community of Playa Chiquita. This area is famous for its untouched beaches with clear waters and small natural pools. We are situated a short 7 minute walk from the beach. The neighborhood is best described as an urban jungle. The humans are quiet and the wildlife is plentiful. We regularly have monkeys, sloths, toucans and more playing in the trees above the house. The nearest grocery store is just 200m away and has a wide variety of foods suited for all dietary needs. There are many restaurants also within a short walking distance. The area is best seen by foot or bicycle. You can easily rent bikes just 200m from the house. You'll have easy access to the beaches, restaurants, many tours and shops using these methods alone. Expect a 25 minute ride into Puerto Viejo, where you'll find even more restaurants, shops, bars and all of the banks/ATMs. Taxis and tuktuks are convenient and reliable for those who wish for a quick trip around. A local bus also shuttles back and forth from Puerto Viejo to Manzanillo every 2 hours throughout the day. You can also rent a car from Adobe or Alamo which have offices in Puerto Viejo if you are more comfortable having your own vehicle during your stay. The stretch between Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo is short and easy to visit from the central location of our property. There's no need to book multiple places in order to see each of the beautiful beaches and their communities. Your hosts are available to help you with anything you need. Feel free to reach out when you have questions, need suggestions, or want to book transportation or tours. We would also like to inform you that we do have a weekly groundskeeper on the property to tend to the garden on Thursday mornings. You do not have to do anything or be there during this time, but please do expect to see a worker on site for a short while (usually 2 hours).
