Casa Luna

Our cozy Casa Luna, 5 min from Mayaguez town square, close-by car to the most popular beaches in the west, feels as a traditional PR country house and is surrounded by tropical vegetation perfect for rest after exploring. The house is next to the 105 road that connects Mayagüez to the inner towns, the sounds of cars and other vehicles might be an inconvenient in the morning (but still, is a rural road and traffic is irregular). Insects and bird sounds are common. The RUM Campus is 15 min away. We have local TV channels and lots of DVD movies for all ages and preferences. We also have games, a tennis table, magazines, books in English and Spanish and two beach chairs that you can use during your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and there's hot water in the shower. The house is highlighted with an original crystal art piece, by local artist Mercedes Lugo, located in the façade of the property, depicting a beautiful tornasol moon and yellow stars over a blue sky. There is a stairway that goes up to the property and the main room is in the back next to The dining table. The house is traditional so the kitchen its in a separate room and has a breakfast table. There is a tv room that accommodate 7 people and you can re arrange it to your liking except form the tv. It also has and are with two love seats in the common area and a little sofa on the porch. There is a lockbox for getting the keys and the small gate its open for you. It also has a gate for the parking that its a little flimsy but it has a bike parking chains that locks it and we send the code for it during the check in day. To open it you would Have to get out of the car. Our recommendation is that if its late you should leave the car in the space outside infront of the gate open it up and then park it inside. During your stay you can leave the chain unlock. We wont be the house for your arrival, but will be available anytime by text and thought the Airbnb app. You can find a convenience store quickly down the road, and a supermarket and a drug store, quickly too, but up the road. The house is also pretty close to La Ricomini bakery, a must go place if you visit Mayaguez where you can find much more than bread and pantries. Mayaguez have one of the most beautiful town square of Puerto Rico: is big and magnificent with a well conserved antique cathedral, and lots of vintage houses around downtown. We recommend you get a car to move around the west side and go to wherever you want. Puerto Rico is a small island and if you don't mind to drive, you can go to Old San Juan from here and get back the same day. The municipalities of Cabo Rojo, Aguadilla, Rincón, Aguada and Añasco have beautiful beaches and the towns of San Germán and Yauco also have great town views, including a macro mural which is a sensation for local and visitors. The internet it’s not a 100% guarantee because the provider sometimes has outages on that area. But when it works is 20mb download and 2.5 mb upload speed. Also sometimes there are power outages but we have emergency light in the house for when that happens.
