WELCOME TO THE COUNTRY - FOX DEN LAKEFRONT STUDIO
WELCOME TO THE COUNTRY - LAKE FRONT PROPERTY - THE FOX DEN STUDIO
WELCOME TO THE HUDSON VALLEY! Enjoy the sights & sounds of the country... all, from inside your cozy (totally private) Fox Den studio apartment. We provide all the comforts of home. Home baked cookies await your arrival. The Fox Den was designed with couples or a single in mind. Sorry, we cannot accommodate children or pets. How about spending a romantic and cozy weekend in front of a warm fireplace, or perhaps to get lost in a good book on your private patio, overlooking the lake. You have found your perfect, private retreat, a place to relax and enjoy the quiet. We are on 20 acres of unspoiled woodlands, walking trails, pretty cottage gardens, as well as 275' of lake frontage. We are on a private lake, motor boats are not permitted, allowing you to enjoy kayaking, paddle boating, fishing, or just floating around to your hearts content. (Boating season is May 1st - September 30th.) The rowboat will remain available after September. We have lounges by the lake, and a roomy hammock for two for swaying in the country air. We have a pair of swans that visit every summer. Mallards, beavers, painted turtles, trout & small mouth bass, call this lake home. There are red fox, & deer (twin fawns are not that unusual). There are red tailed hawks & owls, beautiful north eastern birds and if you're lucky, you'll see an American bald eagle. The Fox Den is decorated with our guests in mind, comfortable, with plenty of natural sunlight. A fully equipped kitchen with a full size oven & refrigerator. We also provide coffee, tea, cooking spices & oils. A luxurious queen size bed with a lake view, and a private bath (towels are provided for both bath and lake). A pergola covered, private patio with a gas grill, overlooking wildflowers and path to the lake. Your privacy is paramount to us (we respect that you are here for some R&R). If you want to drive about and see the countryside, there are many interesting destinations to discover, and most are close by. Antiquing, wineries, glorious estates, beautiful gardens, horseback riding, & delicious restaurants of all kinds. (The Culinary Institute is located in the heart of the Hudson Valley.) Bard college, the Richard B. Fisher Performing Arts Ctr., The Omega Institute, Opus 40, charming towns (such as Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Hudson, Tivoli, & Woodstock), farmers markets, seasonal orchards for picking your own fruit, & much more await your arrival. We love it here, and know you will too.
