Our name was inspired on the flora of our town , for us a leave worths as gold does, and we really value the presence of them, we do know that there are many places which do not have the opportunity to have them, that is why we decided to name our hotel "Leave of Gold". Our community also has Corcovado National Park, which is considered to be one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. You can walk to the local beach of Puerto Jimenez in only 3 minutes away fron the hotel. There are many activities that can be practiced in Puerto Jimenez, such as: Sport Fishing, Kayaking, eco-tourism, bird watching, seing beautiful wildlife, hikes into Corcovado National Park, artisanal fishing, visit to the Guaymie Indigenous Reserve, swim in one the beautiful pools found around, or even go and relax in one of the amazing beaches of the area, and much more. On the Southern part of the country it is located the small town of Puerto Jimenez, with a population of a little bit more than 3000 people, this historical miner and logging community, is one of the bighest arpund the Osa Peni sula. It is surrounded by the Golfo Dulce in one side, and by the other side the great Corcovado National Park. Puerto Jimenez offers many activities such as: whale and Dolphin watching in the Gulf, hikings into the Tropical Rain Forest. Visitors can also observe the amazing Scarlet Macaw during the day, and witness incredible Sunsets. Puerto Jimenez is for the adventurous tourist but also for the ones who are looking for peace and nature. In Puerto Jimenez there are many options for gastronomy: starting from typical restaurants (like cafeterias) offering the typical Gallo Pinto, Casados and Olla de Carne, etc. But also restaurants, pizza shops, fast food restaurants, etc. You can get there by place, leaving from the International Airport Juan Santamaría, flying with SANSA and Aerobell, with daily flights from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez. It is a beautiful flight, with extraordinary views of the Golfo Dulce. The flight lasts around 45 minutes. Driving from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez takes about 6-7 hours, you can choose driving throughout the mountains with great scenic views or the second option is by the coast line, where you can enjoy the view of the beautiful beaches. Besides, you can take the bus which takes approximately 8 hours.
