Red Room in a Small Castle
We're excited to share our beautiful house with visiting guests! Private (Red) room in a unique, newer stone house (think English manor-style), an easy 11 miles drive straight to Portland, Oregon. Close to the city, freeways, and shopping. Ideal for visiting academics and professionals who seek a quiet setting near the city. Free off-street parking in driveway. Your Red room has a fabulous red theme with a desk, a 4-drawer dresser, a large glass-doored cupboard, a closet with extra bedding, and a daybed with a comfortable memory foam mattress. A perfect place to rest, work, or write your novel! The common spaces include the living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, hallway, and the gorgeous backyard (relax on the deck with a book!). The bathroom is a shared bathroom. You will have access to a Keurig machine - starters provided -, a small refrigerator and a small cupboard for your own food supplies. Although busy with work and other obligations, we are generally back in the evenings and will be available to answer any questions you might have during your stay at our house. We look forward to meet and interact with sociable guests (occasional invitations will be extended to our guests to share a meal during family gatherings, etc.). We have occasional family visitors who might use the shared bathroom and expect it to be accessible when not in use by our guests. We live in a quiet suburban neighborhood near the river. We are at the South end of Milwaukie, off McLoughlin Blvd, a few miles from the I-205 Oregon City exit. This area is mostly car-accessible. There is public transportation access up the street, either on SE River Road or (more buses) on SE McLoughlin Boulevard; the Max station is at SE Park Avenue. This is a non-smoking home. The house has resident pets (friendly, but territorial cats) and is not suitable for a guest's own pets or other animals. The second floor is reserved for the hosts' private use.
