3 Cottage Rd was built in the late 1890's and through much renovation and restoration, continues to maintain the feeling of what it was like to live at the beach in another time - all within easy access to NYC via high speed commuter ferry, local trains or the nearby bus route. At the turn of the century the town of Monmouth Beach was a summer retreat for many prominent families from the New York and Philadelphia areas. Although it has now become a year round community, Monmouth Beach continues to attract summer vacationers who enjoy the peace and quiet of living in a small beach town setting. Although the peace and quiet of our town was interrupted by the recent Hurricane Sandy Storm, our century old home turned out to be an example of why new things are not always better.
