Quaint, clean, totally screened cottage on a safe, family road. Large tropical, green, fenced yard. Tiled patio w/ dining table, hammock, and seating area.Ideal location!Just 150m from Fare; the main town; best white sand beaches, lagoon, stores & restaurants. Internet, clean linens, well-stocked kitchen, hot/cold water machine (refills 1200xpf), hot shower inside & cold out, 2 beach/town bicycles. Stay amongst the locals on this traditional Tahitian road. Owners live next door. No smoking. Franky's has a loft-style bedroom upstairs with a queen-sized bed, a single bed, ceiling fan, reading lamp, a place to hang clothes and plenty of shelf space. The bedroom is airy with screened windows and has a beautiful view of the garden, valley and mountains. The bedroom stairs are a bit steep. We always guarantee clean linens throughout the house; including the living room couch cover and pillows. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking; including gas stove with oven (gas included), large fridge, hot/cold water machine (refills 1200xpf), coffee maker with filter, toaster and kettle. The bathroom has a hot shower, clean bath towels and beach towels. We have installed a high-pressure water pump and water tank, because, water pressure can be a problem on the island. But, the pump enables a good, hot shower. There is a large, tiled patio with dining table, double-seated wood lounger, outdoor plug for phone/computer and a hammock. 2 beach/town bicycles are included for use around town and to the beaches…NOT for long distance island touring. The Internet works well and has been used for business purposes; should you decide to do a bit of work :) Guests can have a cool outdoor shower under the uru tree, after a hot day at the beach. The house is very close, a 5-minute walk (approx. 150 meters), from the main (only) town of Fare and the best white-sand beaches on the island for swimming, snorkeling, touring lagoon. Fare is the main meeting place on Huahine and has a large grocery store, morning outdoor market, boutiques, banks, restaurants and roulettes. Stay amongst the locals. Franky's is situated on a private, family road; making it safe and allowing visitors to experience Tahitian culture firsthand. No smokers, please. Huahine Vacation Rental and Property Management Franky’s is situated on a beautiful, large, manicured, tropical, gated and fenced yard. It is simply a wonderful spot with a spectacular view of the valley and Mount Turi, the tallest mountain on Huahine; and your best weather indicator. It is ideally located in a valley with the main town of Fare just 150 m (about 10 houses) down the road. There are 2 bicycles for use to town or beach, not for long distance island touring. There is a small, local style, hanging BBQ. Coolers are available for day trips. A clothes washer is available next door for laundry at a price of 1 000 XPF a load to cover hot water, electricity and detergent. Dish soap, garbage bags and toilet paper are included. We have two stand-up paddle boards available for rent: 3.500 xpf/day for one or 5.000 xpf/day for two. Our airport shuttle is 2.000 xpf with pick up and drop off included. You will be picked up and welcomed at the airport by Smith or Jocelyn and given a rundown of the island with useful information. But, if you are arriving by boat between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am there will be a 2.500 xpf charge. Smith was born and raised on Huahine and can answer just about any questions you have about the island; Jocelyn has lived here for almost 9 years. We live next door and are available for information or help, anytime of the day or night, 24 hours a day; just ring the bell. Franky's is on a private family road so it is a very safe spot. Our neighborhood, "Quartier Lemaire," is a typical Tahitian family road with a wealth of different characters; so you can experience the local atmosphere and culture. The road is private, not paved, a bit rugged, but wonderfully lined with tropical foliage that ends with a trail up the mountain. You will most likely run across a family pet, friendly dogs, chickens, roasters, tame wild boars, ducks and the occasional horse or cow. At one end of the road is Huahine's main town of Fare and fabulous lagoon with; all the islands' stores (large grocery store), morning outdoor market, restaurants, roulettes, best white sand beaches, churches, boutiques, water sports and so much more. At the other end of the road; there is a trail leading up into the beautiful mountains, if you like to hike and explore. The road is nestled in a tropical paradise mountain valley with only a couple dozen homes under the tallest mountain on the island, Turi. It is filled with the sounds of children, birds, dogs, roosters, music and the occasional cow; it is filled with Tahitian culture and life. Nights are quiet, except for the occasional barking dog or rooster; as most people turn in early and rise early to shop at the outdoor market for fruits, vegetables and wares. Guests like to pick up a fresh French baguette and fresh goods in the morning at the outdoor market, come home, and enjoy breakfast on the patio. Again, the market and town are just ten houses down the road; a quick walk or bike ride. Franky's location is ideal for Huahine visitors! It is just a short walk from town, Fare and the island beaches and lagoon (about 150 m, or ten houses). Two beach/town bicycles are also there for your use, but NOT useful for long distance island touring. Fare is located on a large lagoon there are many activities like snorkelling, kayaking, swimming, SUP, sun bathing, boating, fishing, etc, just 150 meters away from Franky's. There is a museum a few kilometers away with ancient maraes and ruins leading up to a popular hiking trail. Cars, scooters, kayaks and sup boards are available for rent within walking distance in town. You will be picked up and dropped off at the airport for 2000 xpf. BUT, if you are arriving by boat between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am there will be a 2500 xpf charge. There is also taxi service available in Fare town. There is no public transportation on Huahine. Smith, my husband, and I met at a surf shop in Oahu, Hawaii; although he was born and raised in Huahine. We decided to return to his native Huahine to renovate, refurbish and bring his land and homes back to life. After working five long years we are able to see the dream of Franky's Fare completed; but are always improving. Our own house, next door, is a work in progress. We love to work on our houses and the yard. But, when the surf is up, Smith spends time on the ocean. My husband's passions are surfing, va'aa canoe and painting, but mostly surfing. Jocelyn loves Tahitian and Hawaiian dance, the beach and SUP. Our lives revolve around the ocean with swimming, surfing, outrigger canoeing, stand-up, snorkelling or just chilling on the white sand beaches. Everyday is a wonderful day for adventure, exploring or just chilling out on Huahine: rain or shine.
