Vermont Lakefront Cottage Getaway

This private cottage in the Northeast Kingdom offers the perfect getaway for your family and friends, or just on your own. It's located at the end of a dirt road, yet minutes from town. Enjoy fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, boating and gazing at sunsets from your beach. The screen porch is perfect for sipping coffee or rediscovering board games with your family. Or explore nearby hiking, biking, sightseeing and shopping opportunities. Our family has spent many wonderful summer vacations here, and now we want others to have that experience! We brought kids of all ages - the shallow shoreline makes the beach a good place for them to play. There's also a DVD/Blu-ray player with a few movies, Wifi for streaming via a Roku and a Redbox nearby. Please use your own judgment as to whether this space will work for your kids. The watercraft at the camp are not available for guest use due to an insurance requirement. Canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards can be rented locally and delivered right to your door! There's also a public boat launch a few miles away that puts in just a short distance from the cottage with a mooring at the cottage. We have a friendly, local property manager who will greet you when you arrive and is on call any time you need her. Most of the cottages on the lake are locally owned, not rentals. This is a quiet area with good neighbors. Though the location is private, you're minutes away from a wonderful convenience and state liquor store that caters to summer renters and will have everything you need. You're also about ten minutes from Newport, where you'll find something for everyone - fast-food or fancy dining, a quaint downtown, a waterfront bike path all the way to Canada, even a Walmart. The road to the cottage is a dirt drive. There is a paved bike path and paved roads nearby, but for biking from the cottage mountain bikes are best, as the closest roads are unpaved. The Wi-Fi speed is 200 mbps and is fast enough to stream movies and get some work done if you need to connect to your work place.
