The rate quoted is for the Villa's six bedrooms sleeping 12-14 guests. You will have exclusive use of the Villa, lounge, kitchen, bar, 48' infinity pool and al fresco dining area. You may add the Lodge to your booking for an additional two guests for an additional fee, accommodating a maximum of 16 guests across the total property. The Lodge is located in a far corner of the property and does not share facilities, nor does it overlook the villa. It may be rented to other if you do not require it. Our chef will prepare a complimentary buffet breakfast every morning - please see the menu on our website for more details. Lunch and dinner are at an additional cost, or guests are welcome to shop and cook for themselves. We also offer a shopping service. Cosmos St Lucia is a modernist open-air villa and lodge looking west to the sunset and the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Pitons, two volcanic spires rising side by side from the Caribbean Sea. These famous twin peaks have become icons of the Windward Islands and are protected from development. Cosmos means universal harmony. With a view of mountain, sea, and sky, you are embraced by the serenity of the natural elements, invited to come together with friends and family to celebrate life’s milestones, and to take time to contemplate the sublime natural beauty that surrounds. Cooled by northern trade winds, Cosmos is located high on a ridge just south of Anse Chastanet Beach with its natural marine reserve, and just north of St Lucia’s old French capital, Soufrière. In the vicinity are rain forests, hot springs, glistening seas, beaches and protected coral reefs. See the blog on our website for tips on local experiences and latest news. The villa’s unique open-air design is built principally from renewable hardwoods and polished concrete finishes. The upper floor cantilevers out some 500 feet above the coast, offering panoramic views over the UNESCO world heritage site and Caribbean sea. Inspired by traditional wooden railway boxcars, teak beams and crisscrossed slats are woven together to create a simple rectilinear form that seems to float in space. Below, bedrooms are built in smooth white coral render and polished concrete, with teak screens offering refuge from the elements, opening to views of the sea and the setting sun. Projecting at right angles away from the main living space and pointing directly to the Piton mountains are sundecks and a 48' ozone pool with dramatic infinity edges on three sides. An upper terrace leads to an outdoor kitchen with wood fire pizza oven, barbecue grill and wet bar. A further table with canopy seats 10 for al fresco dining and can be extended. At the far end of the terrace is the Pavilion lounge, a chill-out space with a projector for evening films and a solar heated stone plunge pool with a fountain head. It overlooks the gardens and the sea beyond. Furnishings are made by local craftsmen from native woods and are decked-out with massive cushions covered in organic cottons. The house palette is primarily natural, dominated by rich golden timber wood beside whitewash walls, with splashes of bright color from garden blossoms, fabrics, fruit and people. Rainwater is abundant on St Lucia and the water supply for Cosmos relies almost almost completely on this natural source. Rainfall is gathered and stored in a vast cisterns with a season’s supply. Grey water is stored and recycled for the flushing toilets and garden irrigation. Although some electricity is required from the grid, a large part of the house’s energy needs is met by solar power. Concessions to comfort include air conditioned bedrooms and wifi connectivity throughout.
