This Studio Apartment in a Redwood home on the beautiful Smith River has a private entrance, private full bath, and a private riverfront gazebo with picnic area. For your comfort and convenience: washer/dryer, firm Queen bed, Roku TV, love seat recliner, computer desk with a choice of chairs, and a separate dining table so nothing has to be moved around to create a work or entertainment area. Free onsite parking. Ideal for outdoor sports: fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking, running. The complete kitchen has a stove and refridgerator plus pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and utensils for four, also offers small appliances including microwave, blender, mixer, toaster, and coffee maker with regular and decafe coffee. An abundance of linens: extra towels, sheets, blankets, and pillows. The bathroom has a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and paper products. Guests have a private entrance to access the studio apartment from the front porch (the door on the right with the combination lock) and a private pathway around the house to the river (also on the right as you face the house) to access the private riverfront gazebo and picnic area. I like to welcome my guests when they first arrive, to get acquainted, to determine their goals for their stay, and to offer suggestions as to favorite sites, trails, drive-bys, historical places, restaurants, and the like. After that, I like to leave them alone to pursue their hearts' desires. Still, I am available--no further away than a phone call/text or a knock on the house door on the front porch. In my absence, my co-host, Marian, lives across the street, just as close and just as eager to please (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Gasquet is a rural, residential ( approximately 600 persons) community located in the heart of the Smith River National Recreation Area, 10 minutes from Jed Smith Redwoods National and State Park. Nestled next to the Wild and Scenic Smith River and surrounded by a conifer and hardwood forest, Gasquet is desirable for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages: hikers, bikers, fishermen and women, kayakers, and swimmers. It is beautiful and quiet. It has a small airstrip and Highway 199 for auto access, so you may hear the occasional private plane or traffic sounds. There are only two services, a post Office and a small but well-appointed grocery/liquor store. Other services are nearby-- only minutes away. Because Gasquet enjoys more sunshine, it is known as the "banana belt" of Del Norte County. There is a daily bus stop in Gasquet-- to and from Crescent City, CA. and to and from southern Oregon towns from the border to Medford. More info available from Host. There are occasional, unpredicatable power outages for unknown periods of time. Pacific Power has a good response time but this is a large forested area that may require a time consuming fix. During this time there will be no power. These variables are out of the control of the host. Alternative light sources are provided.
