The spacious open-plan layout of Beach Villa allows the natural flow of ventilation during hot summer days. The 2nd floor main bedroom has a spacious en-suite bathroom, with another two double bedrooms and a large 3rd floor loft bedroom - all with their own private balconies. The central open plan living area has a modest kitchen, six seater dining table and lounge area with french doors that open onto the main balcony creating one large entertainment area with dynamic ocean views. Tofinho beach is a paradise of uninterrupted miles of soft white sand without the tourist crowds. In addition to the beach there is also a large manicured garden with a newly built BBQ area and outdoor shower. And when it’s time to drag yourself away to stock up on supplies, shops are only a few minutes away. But you’ll really not want to leave once you’ve settled in. And in this case our fantastic host can can organize food delivery and provisions to you! For the adventure enthusiast, there are many different water sports available, booked through recommended companies, including surfing, kite-boarding, surf-fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, whale watching, boats tours and exploring on quad bikes or bicycles. The perfect balance of sun, sand and surf, this is your own private haven of tranquility. This is a forever getaway, for sure. There are two identical houses on one large ocean front property. The house featured is on the south side of the property and is called Beach Villa. Both houses are priced competitively and fairly priced, on a per person per night rate, to be able to accommodate not only families or traveling groups but also individuals and couples. You will be greeted with a true Mozambican smile by your house staff, Elisio and Maria. Elisio's wife and himself live on the property 24/7 and will provide you with friendly hospitality and daily light domestic cleaning. There is secure parking in the drive way for 2 cars and the roads are easily accessible by 2x4. The house conveniently has drinkable bore-hole water. I will not be here physically but am available via email/phone. I have a trusted "guardo" who is available 24/7 for security/light domestic work. A tip is always appreciated +- MZN200/day. I recommend downloading a translator for Portuguese, as most locals only speak very little English. If you feel like you will be needing extra help, additional domestic staff can be hired upon request. You can pay them directly MZN300/day. Beach style atmosphere living. Laid back surfer way type of lifestyle. Combination of friendly locals and adventure seeking tourists make up the area. There is yoga retreat nearby with drop in classes. Hotels nearby with live-music and cocktails. Fresh seafood and fruit/veg plentiful! Tofo is well known for whale shark, manta and humpback whale sitings. When you feel like a little adventure I recommend an Ocean Safari or Scuba Dive to experience these magical sea creatures. There is very little crime but as with anywhere in the world keep your smarts about you. Be aware of opportunist thieves especially the younger kids. Try not befriend them or let them casually on to the property. There is no ATM in Tofo and not many businesses accept credit card. I recommend bringing meticals with you or else you will have to travel 15 mins by car to the nearest ATM. During the peak season holiday there is an influx of tourists to the area. To enjoy quieter/less-expensive times try visiting outside of the holidays. Walking distance to Tofo Village. Once you leave the only tarred road (Tofhino South Rd) all the other roads are packed down sand, 2x4 cars are fine most times of the year. Walking (sand roads), fat-tire biking and quad biking mostly or you can drive to local village. Bring walking shoes. There are many activities to do in and around the area such as surfing, kite-boarding, surf-fishing, snorkeling, beach-combing, whale watching, whale-shark boat excursions, scuba diving. All just a few minutes walk away! I can recommend companies for rentals or check out our website. There is a "guardo" for 24/7 security and light cleaning. There is no on-site laundry facility. Additional domestic staff can be hired on request, if you like. Local cellular SIM cards and data are very easy to activate and cheap to use. As an example 500 mets gets you 5 GBs of data with Vodacom. This is a full self-catering house. Be it if you are traveling by air or car I recommend bringing provisions with you or stopping at the nearest grocery store called "yum/yum" on your way into Tofo. The water for the property is drinkable bore-hole water! There is another, smaller grocery store, within walking distance to the house called Mr Fresh and there are also local fresh fruit and veg stalls near by. This is Africa, TIA, and there of mozzies and other bugs. Bring along your favorite anti-bug spray and long sleeve tops/pants. There is no ATM in Tofo, please stop on your way in at the gas station to withdraw cash from the ATM, as most shops and vendors only take cash in the area. The house is accessible for 2x4 and has drinkable bore-hole water. Each shower has it's own individual electric hot water tank. However please note, this water never gets scorching hot. Electricity is run by the "top-up" pre-purchase coupon system, as is the whole province. The system is VERY EXPENSIVE, please be aware of this and remember to turn off lights in the room as an example. Tofo is remote and at times we loose the municipal electricity, normally not for very long, when this happens it's out of my control. There will be no electricity or water to the house. Keep water bottles in the fridge and your phone charged in case this does happen. Unplug electrical items from the wall if the power goes off to prevent a electrical surge when it comes back on. Should you want to surf or snorkel remember to bring your own equipment or alternatively you can rent from the Surf Shack in town.
