Lovely sunset view on top of the beach!

Nice, small apartment on the ground floor. The house is situated on the hill north of Castries town, above the highway between St Lucia’s capital and the more touristic area of Rodney Bay, with lovely view over Vigie and Choc Beach. 5 minute walk to Gablewoods mall for grocery shopping, to Choc Beach and the local buses into town and north to Rodney Bay and Gros Islet. On the upper level of the house there is a laundry to share and an extra shower for guests to use too. The house owner, Birgitta, is an elderly, swedish, slightly eccentric lady, living on the upper floor. She shares her living quarters with your local host Isaias and his wife Gale. They will all be delighted to see you as their guests. The garden hosts a coconut tree, some mango trees, soursop and some herbs like basil, mint, chives - and if you are lucky and in the right season you will be invited to taste. On the grounds there are also two friendly dogs. There is always a nice breeze to keep you cool, and behind the appartment on the ground floor is a space for hanging out laundry and generally chillin' out. On the upper floor is a lovely balcony which you will be invited to use, although you will have to show some consideration for the house owner's privacy. Your local host, Isaias, will be around the house most of the time to help you out with any questions. He will also be delighted to tell you where to go and what to visit around the island. This is a nice and calm neighbourhood although you may sometimes hear the party music from the Sandals Halcyon hotel down by the beach. By Gablewoods mall (5 minute walk) you will also find a drugstore, some local eateries, and the very nice Ebenezer store to get your local fruits and vegetables. There are a few other Airbnb places in the area, which otherwise is inhabited by locals folks. A 5 minute walk takes you to Choc Beach, a long stretch of sand that never is overpopulated. The southern part of it is in front of the Sandals Halcyon, but accessible from the northern part. A morning walk at sunrise down the hill to the beach and then barefoot in the sand is a perfect start for a day and makes the skin on your feet all smooth! 3 minutes by car or ten minutes on foot you will find one of Carribbean cinema's Megaplex centers. There are lots of dogs in the area, so sometimes it gets a bit noisy. If you rent a car you can park it on the grounds, right by the apartment. A 5 minute walk takes you to the bus stops on the highway from Castries and Gros Islet, local buses take you all around the island at a reasonable fare, but you need to find out where to change between bus lines etc. And timetables are not really existing. :-) The two dogs (Scooby and Giti) are friendly, but roam around freely on the grounds. You need to make sure you close the gate when you come or go.
