On 7 acres of professionally designed gardens, this home is elegantly outfitted with antique furniture and equipped with modern amenities. It is secluded, peaceful and quiet, with the Mianus Reserve bordering one side of the property. Two fireplaces, a large dining table, lots of seating indoors & out. An hour outside of NYC for a weekend getaway. On arrival the beds will be made and all normal necessities will be stocked. You're here on vacation and not to run errands. Insta: @ChanctonHouse Bedford is the perfect getaway from Manhattan to get some peace and quiet, spend time in nature and visit the cultural highlights of the area like John Jay Homestead, Caramoor, Storm King and eat at fantastic local restaurants like the Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges. The house is great for your Christmas holiday - a dining room with large dining table, a big living room with fireplace to have a roaring fire, a study with television and another fireplace and big windows to watch the snow fall. The pool is generally open from the end of May until the beginning of September, the opening/closing times will vary based on weather conditions. The entire home and grounds. The pool is private. The house in on seven acres, everything is private and secluded. The property manager lives on site in a separate building with her small, friendly, well behaved dog, Figgy. The property manager is available for questions, recommendations or addressing any issues. We can assist with reservations for restaurants and open to assisting with other services needed during your stay, just ask. Aside from the house being a wonderful retreat, it is also close to many great restaurants and places of interest to visit. In autumn the area is colorful with changing leaves, in winter its great for snowshoeing and reading by the fire, in spring time our garden is budding and summer time it's bursting with color. The house is close to many hotspots of business and culture in Westchester and Fairfield counties. It is a 20 minute drive from downtown Stamford, Connecticut; a 25 minute drive from downtown Greenwich, CT; a one hour drive from New Haven, CT; a 15 minute drive from Armonk, NY; a 25 minute drive to White Plains. Upon booking we will send you a map of all the places to visit within a 1 hour drive of the house, plus all the local hot-spots to eat, shop and more. You will need a car to get around the area. The house is not walking distance from anything except hikes in the woods! Two metro north stations (Bedford Hills and Mount Kisco) are within a (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minute drive. Stamford is also an option a 20 minute drive away. As a country home we have gardeners who come to mow the lawn, blow the leaves and weed. We do our utmost to schedule these services to come when guests are not at the house, but it is not always possible. Interruption will be kept to a minimum. For stays a month or longer we will bill you for the utilities which includes: gas, electricity, verizon, cleaning, lawn cutting, grounds maintenance and pool maintenance.
