Kwetu Guest Farm - Rheebok Family Cottage

Swellendam is a historical town of note with many interesting nooks and corners to explore. It is a place where the story of the South African countryside unfolds. Many scenic drives and places of interest are within easy reach for the day-tripper. Otherwise Kwetu is the perfect place to get away from it all. Enjoy the sunset while the children are angling in the dam a stone's through away. We do the farm animal feeding at 0800 in the morning by the main house, and we encourage all our guests with kids, big and small, to come down and join in if they wish. We pretty much have every animal that we cannot eat on this farm, and even all our sheep have names, given by our children of course, which gives a whole new meaning to a BBQ challenge. The farm is set with tranquility at heart, but mostly we set it up first with our own children in mind. We want them to love the place. The rest always falls into place eventually. P.S. Remember to bring an apple for Mister Finley, our star farm horse. He's extremely convincing and does not give up easily until he gets his treat... A gentle, stubborn giant with an appetite to match it. Please beware the dams can be quite deep in the middle so please be careful with small children and swimming. Fire is always a threat to the game and the farm, and we ask you to help us protect this beautiful setting by careful and aware of the risks when you light your braai or a cigarette. Also, again to protect the game and our guests, could you please ensure all gates are securely closed behind you when you enter or exit the farm. We encourage you to walk or ride on the farm, our wildlife is never hunted, so very accustomed to people. They will often come very close to our guests. Remember, however, to try to resist the temptation to pet them and keep a safe distance especially when you see a baby in tow. It's very common to see the game right in front of the cottages in the early morning hours, and we hope you will love the sight like we do.
