Set in the stunning jewel of Baltimore on the Wild Atlantic Way. Our house offers a wonderful retreat with a sea view. The house, situated in a holiday home development, has been renovated to a high standard, with granite counter tops, a wood-burning stove and custom-made beds. High-speed wi-fi included. This will be the perfect getaway, appealing to families and individuals/couples alike. Football pitch in front of our house and tennis courts on site. Easy walk to village centre. The open plan layout downstairs is perfect for cooking, entertaining or just being with your family in front of a roaring fire. Fully-equipped kitchen is a gourmet chef's dream. The second living room is also very suited for kids or just curling up with a book (there is no TV). In the summer, sit outside facing the water to witness some of the best sunsets I have ever seen. (And I used to live in Indonesia!). This is our home away from home so we do not pack all of our stuff away but it is very guest-friendly. The house will be entirely yours when you are there. I will be reachable throughout and may occasionally be around but never staying there while you are. Baltimore is a beautiful village just overflowing with things to do, from sailing, to whale watching, fishing, island hopping and the tremendous treks and walks around the area, to name but a few. The village is a perfect base for a holiday to explore the wonders of West Cork, from Skibbereen out to the amazing Mizen Head. Skibbereen is about 10 minutes drive and is a great shopping town with a fab farmers market on Saturdays. Stop on your way to Baltimore! There is a beach within walking distance of our house and an amazing beach on Sherkin island, a short ferry ride away. The stunningly beautiful Lough Hyne, a marine nature reserve and unique sea-water lake, is a short drive away and great for swimming, diving and kayaking. It is very safe for kids. A special annual highlight in Baltimore is the Fiddle Fair in May (but sorry, we are always there at that time!). There is parking on site and bus connections to Baltimore from Cork City (easy access to the city station from Cork Airport). Baltimore is about an hour and twenty minutes drive from Cork Airport. Baltimore is a beautiful getaway from it all with stunning scenery, great access to Sherkin and Cape Clear islands and the Roaring Water Bay. It is a special destination for all things sailing, with courses for kids at the local sailing club and a wonderful wooden boat festival as well as the regatta in August. And it is clearly high on the destination list for whales and there are several boats offering whale watching tours. There are great pubs and a few restaurants within walking distance of our house. And a fab children's playground. We have tennis courts, a football pitch and great walking trails on the grounds.
