Buckley House Cobh, a creative retreat.

Buckley House overlooks the beautiful Harbour town of Cobh in County Cork. Situated in the small town center, each of the south facing rooms has a spectacular panoramic view. We renovated this 200 year old listed Georgian house with love and respect for the old building substance, adding a new kitchen and bathrooms, a modern central heating system, colourful contemporary design as well as art to build a creative and comfortable retreat for ourselves, friends and guests to enjoy. The house in the center of Cobh offers spectaculer views over Cork Harbour. It suits one large family, a group of 2 or 3 smaller families or a group of people who wish to use the spacious house as a creative working retreat. Buckley House is a listed 4 story Georgian house with a lot of character and history. The house can only be rented as a whole house. There are 4 bedrooms (3 double, one with an ensuite and one single), 2 spacious bathrooms, an upper living room with fireplace, ground floor kitchen, open dining and working spaces with a gas fireplace as well as a small yard to the kitchen. It is suited for groups of up to nine persons for a holiday or a working retreat. Since the house is directly in the town center, there are many small shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs within 2 minutes walking distance. Cobh Cathedral is also just a stroll away. There are more than enough cultural points of interest such as the Titanic Experience museum, the Queenstown Story museum, the prize winning Spike Island Experience tour as well as many walks and other activities awaiting you in town. We are only a 2 minute walk away from the town center and a 10 minute walk from Cobh train station and bus stop. Trains to and from Cork City run every 30 mins and take about 24 minutes. There is public parking in front of the house. It is meter parking so you’ll have to check regularly. As Buckley House is a place of creative retreat, the internet access is restricted to the working spaces of the ground floor. Our philosophy behind the house is that people come together to spend time together. Many of our guests are pleasantly surprised at how much they actually relax simply spending time together, talking by the fire, playing board games or reading. Sometimes a detox is just what the doctor ordered!
