Villa Wellspacher offers quietly located apartments in Semmering, 2 km from the Zauberberg–Semmering Ski Area. Apartments come fully equipped for every comfort, shared terrace & large windows offering fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. Villa Wellspacher is a historic Mansion built in the 1890s. It was the 49th house on Semmering, a prestigious weekend location for wealthy Viennese and aristocrats alike. Once operated by a Hungarian doctor as a health retreat which specialised in the clean water and fresh air on Semmering, Villa Wellspacher was well known as the Vecaj Villa for many years. A painting of this can be admired in the Alte Leopoldsapotheke in the 1st district of Vienna and the house has also been featured in a book titled "Semmering Architektur: Villenarchitektur am Semmering." by Guenther Buchinger. Recent reconstruction and restoration resulted in what today is known as Villa Wellspacher, named after the original owner and founder after which a neighbouring street on Semmering has also been named. One person is always around and available to assist however privacy is maintained due to the size of the house. Located in the "Schneebergblicksiedlung" (translated: Snow mountain view settlement), Villa Wellspacher is located in a quiet neighbourhood overlooking the Schneeberg and Sonnwendstein mountains surrounding the area. Ideal for quiet walks and relaxation in the spring, Mountain biking events and Summer theatre festivals and various events in the summer and only 8 minutes from the slopes for the winter, Villa Wellspacher is a great place to kick back, relax and enjoy the Austrian mountain life all year round. Located 1.7km from the train station, Villa Wellspacher is a 4 minute drive and 18 minute walk from this. Due to the location a car is recommended however we have had plenty of guests come by train and use a taxi who seemed to have no problem with this arrangement since they were on vacation. Cleaning fee €50 and city tax of €2.30 per adult not included in price.
