From here you wander past salad-growing fields and quaint cottages until you get to St Chads Church. In springtime the churchyard becomes a riot of colour thanks to carpets of purple, yellow and white crocuses. Traditionally agriculture was the main industry in the countryside surrounding Poulton-le-Fylde and records show that a market has been held in Market Square since at least 1348. This tradition continues to this day, with a farmers' market held every fourth Saturday.
