Upper House 4. This is the more spacious of the two units. This part of the house is on two floors. The lower floor contains an open plan kitchen with all basic facilities, such as a kettle, toaster, hob, oven, fridge with freezer compartment. It opens up into the living / dining area from which a twin bedroom can be accessed. Doors from the dining area as well as from the kitchen lead to the courtyard garden outside. An exterior open staircase leads to the top floor ending on a terrace with amazing views over Kalamata bay. The double bedroom opens out to this terrace and is also linked to the toilet and bathroom. It can be closed off for privacy, as the bathroom and toilet can also be accessed via a door on the other side of the terrace. Dimi House is a traditionally restored house with blue shutters and white washed walls. It can be used as two separate units, each with their own kitchen, bathroom, living areas, terraces and bedrooms. Each unit can be rented out individually and has its own access and gate. This House, the Upper house is the more spacious of the two. It has an open plan kitchen/ dining/ living area and a twin bedroom on the lower floor. An open staircase in the courtyard leads to the top floor where there is a terrace with stunning views, a double bedroom, a bathroom and a separate toilet. An extra bed can be put up to accomodate 5 if this is required. Both houses are well equipped with basic facilities, such as kettles, ovens, crockery, etc. There is no washing machine, but a laundry service available on request The drive down to Kalamata, the nearby town, takes about 10 to 15min. along winding roads. There you will find large supermarkets, a shopping street with all on offer that one could desire, a promenade along the seafront with cafés and restaurants alongside a sandy long beach. Kalamata has hosted many international arts festivals in open air locations in the summer months, such as dance and music performances in amphitheatres and open air cinemas on roof terraces. Another lovely walk can be taken along the marina, where further restaurants can be found. If you prefer to keep away from the bustle of a buzzing town a petrol station, fantastic traditional bakery, pharmacy and mini supermarket can be found on the main road leading up to Kato Verga. There is a lovely local restaurant in walking distance with spectacular views and a seasonal Greek menu. Just as the house it is also on the shady side of the mountain until later morning hours and in the evenings one can admire the sun set from a terrace with a drink in hand! You are situated on the Peloponese, which offers the opportunity to explore many of Greece s ancient sites throughout the year. Especially in the spring and autumn months the mountain with Kato Verga as a starting point lends itself to some breathtaking walks. The tranquility of the house during these times of year also make a painting holiday attractive. Greece has a special light that many authors and artists have tried to capture in their works. It is advisable to have a car. This can be parked on the road above the house. Due to the open plan staircases and open courtyards we do not recommend the properties with younger children or toddlers. We are also reluctant to rent the house to anyone who finds the rocky ascending path and stairs leading to the property difficult or challenging on foot. The access to the property is mostly lit at night, but there are not opportunities to hold onto rails throughout the ascent. Please also be advised that the house does not have WiFi facilities. We like it to be a rest from the busy world, but should you need it the property has good connectivity on 4G.
