PERFECT FOR 10 ADULTS + 4 CHILDREN La Balade au Bois is a luxury holiday accommodation comprising of a renovated stone farmhouse and barn dating from the 16th and 7th century on one gorgeous, rural site in the hamlet of Les Cabanes near Nabirat, in the famed Perigord Noir area of the Dordogne. Just 20 minutes from the medieval town of SARLAT and 15 minutes from the hilltop town of DOMME, you will be spoiled with lovely rolling views, fantastic world-class heritage sites on your doorstep, and all amid the peace and tranquillity of our little hamlet. Both buildings have been beautifully renovated and furnished to a very high standard to give our guests a real home from home here in the glorious Dordogne. We believe that our guests deserve the best- an historic, traditional Perigord home, beautifully furnished with all that modern life requires without breaking the bank! All the history and atmosphere of the rural French idyll with all the home comforts we love so much. The FARMHOUSE, Le Chataignier, has 5 double bedrooms two with their own en-suite bath/shower room and another separate bath and shower room . Three bedrooms have king size beds, with one of the bedrooms located on the ground floor. Another bedroom has a super king size bed (this can also be a twin bed room). In addition there is a separate toilet on the ground floor. We have two extra beds that can be used in the bedrooms for children. The atached BARN, Le Noisetier, has 1 double bedroom with a king size bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower over. Additionally it has a 'kids corner' on the ground floor where there are 2 bunk beds for the children The FARMHOUSE- Le Chataignier and the ATTACHED BARN- Le Noisetier together can house up to 10 adults and up to 4 children and is just perfect for A FAMILY GATHERING On site for your exclusive use we have a wonderful 11m x 5m HEATED SWIMMING POOL with beautiful rattan poolside loungers, its own covered summer seating and dining area complete with stone BBQ and all weather rattan sofas. Large open gardens give a wonderful area to enjoy and play. Adjoining the hamlet is a lovely forest area just perfect for an evening stroll- this is where you leave the rat race behind! There are 'HOTSPOTS' in the Dordogne and we are definitely in one of those- the choice is yours- total relaxation in our romantic, rural setting or, in just a few minutes, you can be at some of the best tourist sites that the Dordogne has to offer! Domme, La Roque- Gageac, Beynac-et-Cazenac, Lascaux Caves...the list goes on! Three of the best châteaux are within 20 minutes of the gite: Château de Castelnaud, Château de Beynac and the former home of Josephine Baker, Château des Milandes.
