Peaceful Woodland Lodge | Reconnect with Nature
Set in 4 acres of woodland on a working farm that borders a quiet stretch of the Lincolnshire coast, our cosy lodge is a place to relax, connect with nature and leave your troubles behind. Ideally located for exploring sandy beaches and wildlife reserves including the Donna Nook seal colony. Convenient for visiting Lincolnshire's unspoilt market towns such as Louth and uncovering this county's rich history and unhurried way of life. We encourage campfires, stargazing and leaving with a smile! The Garden Room, in its private and peaceful setting is surrounded by woodland and open farmland close to the Lincolnshire coast. Spacious and furnished to a high standard throughout, our priority is your comfort and so we have taken great care to choose quality beds and bedding to ensure your best nights sleep. The well appointed living/kitchen offers a comfortable area where you can eat and relax. The efficient central heating system and insulation to the walls and roof means we can welcome you in all seasons of the year. The veranda and patio has sheltered seating areas where you can enjoy a barbecue, sit around the fire-pit (logs provided) or simply enjoy the views towards the Lincolnshire Wolds. We are on hand to greet you and advise on your visit but we value your privacy and so leave you to enjoy your break. You are welcome to wander anywhere in the garden although we do prefer to keep the patio at the front of our house private. Guest’s cars can be parked on the track leading to The Garden Room which is to the right at the oil tank when you approach the house on the driveway through the wood. Safety Note: We do have a pond at the front of the house and there are ditches that may contain water in the area. We like to meet and engage with our guests but fully understand if you prefer not to. We are more than happy to make suggestions for visits and eating out in order to make your stay enjoyable. This is an undiscovered and quiet part of the Lincolnshire coast although not far from the coastal resorts and sandy beaches of Cleethorpes and Mablethorpe/Sutton. The Humber Estuary is internationally renowned for its abundant wildlife and habitat for over-wintering birds. In October and November seals come ashore to have their pups on the shoreline at Donna Nook and this has become a popular local visitor attraction to see nature at close hand. It does get busy in the height of ‘seal-watching season’ so we have devised a circular walking route from The Garden Room that takes you along our quiet farm tracks to the coast and back. You won’t meet a soul until you reach Donna Nook car-park! Allow 3.5 hrs. It’s pretty essential that you arrive here by car as public transport is very limited. Local services such as pubs and shops are a five minute drive away and the lovely market town of Louth is a twenty minute drive. Walking along our farm roads to reach Marshchapel is an easy and level 40 minute stroll. Bring your wellies, it can be a bit muddy! We provide you with bread, milk, teas, coffee, butter and preserves to make yourself breakfast. There is a good Post Office and well stocked village shop in Marshchapel less than two miles away
