This is our holiday house in Skiros Island! It's located on the top of the main village (Chorio), just a few steps from King Lycomides ancient castle and the early-christian monastery of St. George. It's also just 3 minutes walk to the center of the village and 15 - 20 minutes to the beach. Also, it's very easily accessible by car. The ground floor of the house was built almost a century ago, but it was fully renovated without losing it's traditional character. The ground floor interior is of a typical traditional Skyrian house, transferred with care to the 21st century. Decorated with traditional Skyrian pottery, it features all the traditional Skyrian furniture, from "kareklatsa" (little chairs) and "sfas" (lofted bed) to "fgou" (fireplace), it however remains a fully functional place. The first floor is built to be used as a multipurpose space, either as bedrooms or living room. The toilets and bathroom are located on the outside of the house but just at 1 step distance, so be sure to bring your robes! Guests can always contact me via e-mail or sms, and if it's something requiring immidiate attention of further discussion, you can call me on my cell phone. I 'll try to respond as quickly as possible The neighbourhood is a quiet one, very picturesque, and close to important local monuments. You will be able to visit most of the island's museums and monuments by foot. By foot you can easily get to the village center or the Magazia beach. Also there's public transportation you can get to with a 5 minute walk from the house, getting you to the port, airport and some beaches. If you travel by car, there's public parking space just outside the house, but in summer months it may get hard to find room for parking. Worst case scenario you will park a ten minute walk from the house.
