For all who prefer remote surroundings and quiet nature. Two beds in the room (double or single at your choice), full bedding and breakfast available. In the guesthouse we have only two guest rooms the shared spaces are spacious. Cooking facilities for guests. If contacted in advance, we could make you a dinner. A shared living room / breakfast room, shared bathroom with a shower. The former barn is a shared space as well - with a big window facing Breiðafjörður bay - books and more. Perfect place for the two of you! To have a new point of view, take a walk up the mountain hill. You will see a new horison - the bay, the islands and the mountains of the Westfjords We will be happy to welcome you. The house is our summer home, we enjoy sharing this good place with guests. However if you choose, be as private as you wish. There is plenty space in our house :-) ! There is the beach, the waterfalls, the mountain - and the narrow valley The area on and around Breiðafjörður has a breathtaking nature. Nýp Guesthouse is placed on a small peninsula opposite Reykhólar village, the house faces west - we have spectacular sunsets in the summertime! There are many interesting places/hikes in the vicinity; to name a few: Hólmavík village an hours drive with the humorous Icelandic Sorcery & Witchcraft center - and the small restaurant attached to the center, - Reykhólar village (also an hours panoramic drive) with a small boat museum and a very nice outdoor swimming pool, a sea salt production, produced with the local thermal heat; and Búðardalur village with horse riding (Dalahestar) and a folk museum in Laugar Sælingsdal, tourist information centre and cafe-restaurant all rolled into one at Leifsbúð down by the harbour. Not to mention simply a walk down to our Nýp beach in the evening sun....or a stroll up the mountain hill - you might even encounter the great white tailed eagle, if you are alert...
