Magnificent Townhouse - Upper East Side - NYC
A single family private townhouse located in the Carnegie Hill residential neighborhood of the Upper East Side in Manhattan. The house is tastefully appointed and fully furnished. The interior space and exterior façade have been fully renovated. Upgrades and improvements have been regularly applied to the finishes, the building systems, as well as the bathrooms and kitchen, by the resident owner/architect. Characterized by large floor plates, tall ceilings, large rooms, and big windows; the building is built 65’ deep. The house is unusually large and spacious by typical townhouse standards with minimal detailing. The family living space is a loft like open plan room encompassing two seating areas, the dining room and a chef’s kitchen with breakfast nook that can be partitioned off from the rest of the floor. The living area opens to a balcony and stair overlooking a private backyard garden with pond. Upstairs there are four large bedrooms, all with their own in-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a spa bath. There is central air conditioning, heating and vacuum systems. New mesh wifi distributes 400Mbps service to internet, TV, and building security. A roof-top deck can be accessed from one of the top floor bedrooms. Guests occupy the majority of the 5,000 sf. townhouse in a private triplex apartment on the second, third and fourth floors. These top three floors are all fully furnished and separate from the 2 lower floors (ground floor and cellar) currently used by the owner as a live/work space. Access is through a private entrance and short stair leading from the entry. There is full access to the backyard and a roof deck. Pets are allowed by arrangement. We maintain a minimum booking rate for stays less than 5 days. The owner, Eric, will be available to answer questions. The string of museums along Fifth Avenue fronting Central Park has been dubbed "Museum Mile", running between 82nd and 105th Streets. Most of Manhattan's private schools are very nearby. A short walk brings one to the Museum Mile, Central Park and Madison Avenue shopping. Convenience shopping, services, restaurants and public transportation are steps away in any direction. The Upper East Side is currently served by two subway lines, the four-track IRT Lexington Avenue Line (4 5 6 trains, green), and the new Q train (yellow). Stations for both of these lines are within 5 blocks of the house. In addition there are local and limited MTA Regional Bus Operations. Hailing a Taxi is as easy as going outside and flagging one down. Ninety first street does not go through on the other side of Third Avenue so the street is more private and quiet than most. All surrounding cross streets offer alternate side of the street parking. There are several parking garages across Third Avenue. The Upper East Side neighborhood is traditionally more residential and quiet. Central Park with it’s numerous amenities is 3.5 blocks away across Madison Avenue with its luxury retail shops that stretch from this Carnegie Hill neighborhood through Midtown, and the famed Museum Mile which stretches from 70th to 100th streets along Fifth Avenue and adjacent to Central Park. Hundreds of restaurants, shops and services are all within a 5 block radius as are the Q,4,5,6 subway lines, and bus lines on every avenue and major cross street.
