Countryside near Cologne - idyllic!

Everybody is happy here - you find all the pleasures of country life right around you and all the pleasures of Cologne in a 30-minute-drive! This apartment is situated on the banks of a river canal, surrounded by woods, hills, lakes (in the region called "Bergisches Land", east of Cologne). Wonderful place for relaxing, hiking, sightseeing. Cologne centre: only a 30-minute-drive away. Easy to reach by train and car, yet in a very quiet area. Other places of historic interest, castles, museums: to discover in daytrips. This is a fully furnished apartment with a large living room with a sofabed for 2, well equipped kitchenette (microwave, oven, toaster etc), bathroom (tub and shower), plus separate bedroom (double bed).There are about 50 square meters on this level (first floor, outdoor stairs, separate entrance, no lift). The living room faces the canal and meadows beyond - you'll enjoy the great view. You get there via a large balcony (17 sqm) facing south. Balcony furniture: a table and four chairs, parasol (and an ashtray for smokers who are kindly asked not to smoke inside). There is a large second level above the first, comfortable and complete with several mattresses and a second small balcony, facing north. (Balcony furnished with a small table and chairs) This second floor under the roof is low (1,50 m max.), so adults have to stoop to use it as a sleeping place, except in the dormer window where they can stand and go onto the balcony. Children so far have all enjoyed this space as an indoor playground and their own bedroom. This makes it an ideal place for a family holiday. There are several bicycles at your disposal and games, WLAN, TV, CD, DVD. Bed-linen and towels are of course included in the price, as is cleaning. Dog or cat accepted. Parking: on the premises Supermarkets, restaurants, banks and shops are 2 kms away. There is a bus stop at very short walking distance, right across the road. The bus takes you to the train station if you feel like visiting Cologne on the Rhine, 28 kms away. The train, after a 30-minute-ride, stops right next to the world famous cathedral.
