The Lavender hut is an unique self-catering hideaway close to wonderful gastro restaurants, a village Pub, wild swimming spots & beautiful walks on the door step. With a back-to-nature simple life aesthetic; there's a pared-back understated essence to this luxury Shepherds Hut for two. From time spent beside the lavender field or relaxing in the wood fired hot tub, The Lavender Hut affords a getting away-from-it-all from solo travellers to couples looking to reconnect. There is private parking. The hut has an open-plan design and underfloor heating, also featuring log burner, en-suit bathroom with flushing lavatory, luxury bed linen, towels and fluffy bathrobes, kitchen with hob, fridge, Nespresso machine and cooking bits, outdoor fire pit and wood fired hot tub. WiFi fast internet is available. Your stay include a small basket with wood, charcoal and a welcome hamper that contains Fresh local produce to get you started. The hot tub takes 1 1/2 to 3hrs to get hot and we can get it heated for your arrival when requested and wood purchased in advance - the wood is sold at buy price for £23 and it’s enough wood for the initial heating process and enough wood to have the hot tub reheated 3 times, usually enough for 3 nights stay. Honest box is available should you need to buy additional hard wood logs, fire lighters and charcoal. You are welcome to bring your own ash wood to heat the hot tub and fire pit. We highly recommend booking a meal at the N28 in somerton. This is a gastro restaurant that has recently been open by Dan Fletcher, a finalist of great British menu. We are also close to At the chapel, The Newt, and Roth Bar Grill in bruton. Booking in advance is recommended as places are fully booked quickly, specially as number of people are reduced due to COVID-19 social distancing. The countryside is very pretty around us and there are some lovely small villages and country pubs worth paying a visit such as castle cary, wells cathedral and frome. Clarks village Outlet is also few minutes away from us. If you prefer to stay locally, there is a wild swim spot and over 200 acres of orchard to explore in our village. On our door step there is local fresh produce of milk, eggs, bread, meat, jams, great cheeses and superb birthday cakes. A haven of serenity, if you choose to simply 'hide' out during your stay, then exploration is not mandatory. But if you do choose to roam, you are just minutes from Castle Cary, a quaint little market town or a stone's throw from both Glastonbury and Bruton. Further afield, Frome with its charming medieval cobbled streets is home to a number of gastro pubs and galleries. Fresh lavender bouquet can be organised during your stay when we start our harvest in August, and dried lavender bouquets can be purchased throughout the year. Due to the steps and the raised bed, the Hut is not suitable for people with restricted mobility. We do not allow any smoking either inside or outside the hut.
