Björk - A cozy hilltop cottage - Great location!

A cozy and comfortable, well equipped private cottage located right in the Golden Circle about 5 minutes from the famous Geysir. A perfect location to have a base for relaxing after travelling around nearby attractions which include all attractions on the Golden Circle, the South Coast of Iceland and it is also very close to the amazing Icelandic highlands. A perfect getaway to unwind in the countryside in a magical area. Cuddle up by the fireplace or relax in the hot tub on the terrace. Our cozy cottage sits nicely in the mountainside on an elevation surrounded by Icelandic birch trees. It is in good distance from neighboring houses and is very private with a locked gate to get into the area. It is a perfect place for a romantic getaway and also very family friendly. The whole house has geothermal heating in radiators in the cottage. There is a nice open space with a comfortable living area with a smart TV, fireplace, a country style kitchen with a refrigerator, a stove, an oven and a microwave. A good dining area with an adjustable table and seats for six people. A cozy loft suite with a king size Tempur bed and a bedroom with a bunk bed on the ground floor, a bathroom with a toilet in the cottage and a separate shower room in a cabin on the terrace. A very comfortable private hot tub is on the terrace. Our cottage is about a 1.5 hour drive from Reykjavik. It is a great location to be based in when travelling around both the Golden Circle and the South Coast of Iceland. The area right by the cottage has a lot to offer. You will find a restaurant/bar that is open all year round called Réttin. There is also a petrol station right by the restaurant. The cottage is within good distance of the restaurant so you will not be bothered by it. In the summertime the area also offers a swimming pool, info center, 9 hole golf course, horse back riding tours and a small shop. In the wintertime it can snow a lot in the area since the cottage is pretty high up in the mountain. The use of a 4x4 vehicle is recommended in the wintertime.
