Thalassoporta: Stunning views and a private beach
Seafront villa with secluded private beach. Shaded terraces and garden and a large outdoor heated Jacuzzi with stunning views of the sea and the islands. Comfortably furnished and equipped with all amenities, including air-conditioning, ceiling fans, Wi-Fi and sound system throughout, a closed garage and shaded outside parking. Laid out in three floors, 200+ m2, with the living room, kitchen, dining area and a visitors WC in the main floor, and 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with showers upstairs. The lower floor comprises a self-contained flat ideal for a second couple, for youngsters or elders seeking privacy, or for your family maid/babysitter. It has a large sitting area, an office desk, kitchenette with refrigerator, sleeping quarters for two adults plus 2 children (if necessary) and its own bathroom with shower. The options for relaxation and dining are many but during the summer months there is preference for outside with the spectacular views of the sea and the islands. A cool naturally-shaded sitting area under the large olive and mulberry trees is an ideal place for coffee or a before-dinner drink. The private beach is a very special place, directly accessible from the house and offers an environment for absolute relaxation with crystal clear waters for swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing. The beach "house" offers all amenities, including a small refrigerator, oven/BBQ, sound system and internet. A spacious sitting area is ideal for dining day or night, complemented by access to an underground wine cellar. The house can sleep comfortably up to 6 persons. Cleaning service upon request. Smoking not allowed in the house. Located at Agios Emilianos (eastern Peloponnese), 2.5 hrs from either Athens Airport by car or the port of Piraeus by boat. Taxi service can be arranged for getting around but a private car is a much better option. Agios Emilianos is one of the most exclusive vacation areas in Greece (often referred to as the Greek Riviera), favored by privileged and discerning Athenian families, royals, Greek shipping heirs and world-class athletes. They come to this seemingly remote location for a relaxing getaway, to enjoy sailing and bathing in crystal clear seas, tranquility and privacy, spared by the large crowds attracted by mass-tourism destinations. In addition to its natural beauty, the greater area of Argolis offers plenty of opportunities for short visits and cultural expeditions. The picturesque fishing villages of Ermioni and Koilada are known for their excellent cuisine, specializing in fresh fish. The ancient cave of Frachthi, inhabited as early as 40,000 BC, is found in Koilada. The nearby islands of Hydra and Spetses are renowned for their artistic culture, attracting painters and sculptors from the world over. Easily accessible by car are also the archaeological sites of Mycenae, Epidaurus (with its renowned ancient theater), Tyrinth and Corinth, as well as Nafplion with its beautiful Venetian fortress and historical center. Your typical day at Thalassoporta: Early morning swim when the sea is at its best. Relax at you private beach house and enjoy your breakfast there while surfing on the web and dealing with your daily correspondence. Take another dip at the sea and watch the sailing boats in the distance. Soon will be time for lunch. The best place for that is still right there by the beach house. With the appetite raised from the morning's activities, a fresh loaf of bread and a Greek salad with feta and olives would do wonders for filling you up and keeping you in shape as well. A good book, the mesmerizing sound of the waves and the gentle breeze could still keep you there for hours and most likely you will wake up after a most relaxing siesta. Time for another swim in the ever inviting sea or are you more “adventurous”? Porto Heli offers water skiing, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, etc. Scuba diving is also an option but that is better to arrange for an early morning outing when the underwater visibility is at its best. In the evening, it is highly recommended to dine out in one of the taverns in the sea-side villages of Porto Heli, Ermioni, Kilada, or anywhere in between. Before you settle for your dinner (or after dinner), take a stroll around the village and enjoy traditional Greek pastries or an ice-cream and a refreshing cold coffee (Frappé). If you are in the mood for seeing a movie, the open air cinema in Porto Heli shows a different movie every night, including a late showing starting at 23 hrs. But you can party also! And probably the best place for that is right there at your beach house in Thalassoporta. A BBQ dinner, or even an oven pizza if you have the skills, is possible right there where you swam in the morning. But the atmosphere now is much more exotic and romantic under the stars with your preferred music playing and a good bottle of wine straight from the cellar to serve your guests. Why not a night dip at the sea as well? With nobody to complain, you can chat and party until dawn! Your alternative could have been to head for Spétses (10 minutes sea-taxi from Kosta) and explore one of the most beautiful islands of Greece, and then dance the night away in the sophisticated bars and clubs of the island. But you can leave that for another night!
