Sonsy Cottage is situated in the beautiful village of Alnmouth on the Northumbria Coast. It is close to a sandy beach, restaurants, pubs and village shops. Enjoy hiking trails in the Cheviot Hills and the heritage coastline. We are close to Alnwick Castle & Garden, Bamburgh, Cragside and Howick Hall and Gardens. Alnmouth Railway Station on the main east coast line is 2 miles away. Sonsy (Northumbrian for delightful) Cottage makes a perfect base for families in this central coastal location. Sonsy Cottage is a charming stone built cottage tucked away in the heart of the village. It is a just short walk to the shops, eating places, sandy beach and golf course. GROUND FLOOR Entrance hallway with hanging for coats, boots and wellies. A washing machine is available. The hallway leads through to a large, bright and sunny kitchen with a glass roof. Flooded with natural light there is a large family dining table, cooker, oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer and microwave. The new luxurious downstairs bathroom has a bath, power shower, w.c. and sink, with underfloor heating. Living room is spacious with wood burning stove in Inglenook fireplace, there are large sofas and comfy chairs a TV/DVD, iPod docking station and games library. FIRST FLOOR Bedroom 1 with king size bed, leading through to Bedroom 2. Bedroom 2 with twin beds. Bedroom 3 double bed. OTHER FACILITIES Enclosed patio garden with raised decked area. Gas Central heating. All power, fuel for stove and bed linen included in rent. Parking nearby. Guests can access the entire cottage We live only 10 minutes away so are happy to assist & help guests make the most of their holiday. Guests can use the cottage to visit Northumberland and the Scottish Borders,. Edinburgh is only an hour on the train from Alnmouth Station and we are close to Alnwick Castle & Gardens, the National Trust properties of Cragside, Lindisfarne Castle and Wallington. Walk in the Cheviot Hills, along the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall or along the Heirtage Coast and the sandy beaches of Bamburgh, Beadnell, Embleton and of course Alnmouth. There is a regular bus service to Alnwick and Newcastle and the main east coast railway line stops at Alnmouth Railway Station with regular trains to Edinburgh and London Kings Cross. There are excellent pubs and restaurants in Alnmouth and surrounding villages. There is no private parking with the cottage, cars must be parked on the street in the village. We provide all bed linen, tea towels, hand towels, soap, along with kitchen & bathroom basics. Please note we ask you to bring your own bath towels.
