Beautifully situated on the Pier side at Bruichaladdich, Islay is the original Pier Masters House. This is a stunning property, beautifully restored to an exceptional standard. Complete with a picturesque beach to the front and boat slipway to the side. This 4 bedroom property benefits from magnificent views of Bruichladdich Distillery and over Lochindaal to Bowmore distillery and beyond. The house is presented over 2 floors with the living room on the upper floor to maximise the exceptional vista. The house has all modern facilities and comes well equipped and presented. There are 4 bedrooms. One with a double bed, another has twin beds, upstairs is a king size bed which can be split to twin beds and the large family bedroom has a king size bed along with a double sofa bed. There is a main bathroom with shower and bath, a separate wc and the master bedroom is complete with its own en-suite and shower. The large kitchen dining room is fully equipped. It has a large dining table which is the main focus of the room and perfect for large family meals. It has a dishwasher, gas over and hob along with microwave, washing machine, 2 fridges and 2 freezers. Central heating is fitted throughout and the living area has a Juliette balcony directly over the beach below. The property has it own large driveway suitable for parking 4/5 cars which is fully gated along with a separate large walled garden with bbq area and outside dining area. The upstairs of the property has stunning views from all windows and is divided into 3 main areas. The far end of the room has a large screen television with free view box, VCR, dvd player and music system. The other spaces are designed for peace and relaxation with seating overlooking the beach below and along the pier, there is also a place deigned for reading, family games and socialising. There is central heating throughout the property. There is a large hallway with separate cloak room plus a utility room to the rear of the kitchen. Bruichladdich itself benefits from a well stocked mini market run by Aileen and is within easy walking distance of the house. You can get a superb breakfast sandwich and hot and cold food served throughout the day, fine Italian coffee, a selection of tea and other drinks are available to have in or outside the shop whilst enjoying stunning views over the loch to Bowmore. Bruichaladdich distillery is right on the door step and offers a great friendly welcome, daily tours and an exceptional shop offering whisky, clothing and more. Right next door to the house is the Rhinns boat club and the pier outside the property is alive with activities of all kinds. Excellent fishing and crabbing is available year round on the pier as is bathing on the beach to the front of the house. A couple of miles away in Port Charlotte, there are fine dining restaurants serving fresh seafood as part of all their menus. The bars and pubs are friendly and full of character. We highly recommend The Lochindaal public house for great Scottish craik and excellent home cooked food. Yan's kitchen offers mouthwatering cuisine with a well equipped, safe, indoor childrens play area to offer some peace whilst dining and The Port Charlotte hotel is centrally located and offers good food, accomodation and live music events throughout the year. For the whisky lovers then there truly is no other Island to visit. With 9 distilleries on this Scottish Island, whisky is the life and breath of the island. Most of the distilleries are open for visitors and tours take place daily, all year round. There is a local doctors surgery, a well equipped convenience store and a little further along the road is Port Mor with an excellent community hall and well equipped children's playground. Besides the whisky, the island is alive with wildlife, dramatic changeable weather and a wide variety of music. The island hosts the Feis Iles each May which is a 9 day celebration of whisky and music. The islands championship pipe band along with a huge array of musicians and bands feature during the Feis Iles and it really is an event not to be missed. Most of the islands distilleries take turns to host open days during the festival where whisky and fine music can be found in abundance.
