Cozy Cabin Retreat

Relax in our newly renovated cabin which earned TOP airbnb in all of KANSAS. See airbnb news for link! Everything is brand new and ready for your cozy, quiet, remote stay. Unwind on our miles of hiking trails, labyrinth, axe throwing or horseshoes. Swing while enjoying the beautiful sunset over the valley. 5 mins from the Lake. If you need a break from the city or life, this is your place. You're sharing the space with a retreat center. You're welcome to participate in events if that suits you. We have 15 acres of mostly wooded property filled with hiking trails, a labyrinth, a medicine wheel, two ponds with a meditation area and hammocks all around. There are fishing poles, an axe throwing area, a fire pit and horseshoe pit for your use. From October 1 - December 31st half of the trails may be closed for a few hours at a time while my husband hunts. There is a ton of wildlife and many hummingbirds ready to greet you. Unwind while reading a book in the hammock. We have 3 dogs that you may meet while here. They are all friendly and love saying hello. If you are not a dog person, please let us know and we will be sure to keep them inside or away from you while you’re outside. Our neighbors have an outside dog, Roscoe and she LOVES people. She may visit as well, if you do not want her company please let us know and we will ensure she stays on her land. You can access anything on our property. We even have a pond which is catch and release. Please look at trail map so you know where our neighbor's property line is and please stay on our property. This cabin is more suitable for two adults and two children, I wouldn't recommend 4 adults as it would be too tight. There is no longer a washing machine at the cabin. We are happy to be here for anything you need or to show you the trails. If you'd prefer to just enjoy your quiet time and explore on your own, we respect that as well. We live in the middle of Lawrence, KS (KU) and Kansas City, KS (The Speedway). Only 20 minutes to the famous Kansas City Renaissance Festival and Providence Amphitheater. We are 25 minutes from each in a remote, private location off the main highway. You can get to downtown Kansas City, MO to go to the City Market, The Plaza or Chief's Stadium all in 40 minutes! Here's some top things to do in Kansas City (Website hidden by Airbnb) We are 40 minutes from the Kansas City airport and you can Uber here if you do not have a rental car lined up. We are approximately 7 hours from Denver by car and 4 hours from St. Louis. It is recommended that you drive here as we live in a remote location but not mandatory.
