A luxury holiday cottage consisting of a wing of Kildrochet House, an early 17th Century Grade B listed building. Set within 5 acres of it's own land and situated in the beautiful countryside of Wigtownshire, South West Scotland. We started this listing in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) but only put the bare essentials in. Only today, April 4 2018 have we actually finished it. This is why we have had no guests or reviews from Airbnb so far! You can find 5-star reviews for us on Trip Advisor. A luxury holiday cottage consisting of a wing of Kildrochet House, an early 17th Century Grade B listed building. Set within 5 acres of it's own land and situated in the beautiful countryside of Wigtownshire, South West Scotland. The cottage is beautifully furnished and decorated to a luxurious standard and provides an oasis of tranquility. Close to the delightful coastal harbour villages of Port Patrick and Port Logan with wonderful country views. Kildrochet Holiday Cottage is in peaceful extensive, beautifully kept mature gardens with open space for children to play and garden furniture for relaxing and dining outdoors. A spacious home which sleeps 2, is quiet and secluded, but there is also an optional fold-up bed for a third adult or child. Pets are also welcome. A perfect place for a couple to base a walking holiday from, to go golfing, to explore Logan Botanical Gardens or just to relax in the many country pubs in the area. This may be particularly useful for groups of 3 or 4 travelling together as it also sleeps 2. UPDATE September (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) : TV now has access to our Netflix Premium account. The entire cottage; courtyard with breakfast table and seating; 5 acres of lawn, paddock and wooded area. Sometimes myself and/or my wife Lesley are away from home. Often on these occasions friends or family are housesitting for us in the main house next door and are available to show guests around, provide an emergency key or offer additional information etc. On the odd occasion this is not the case then guests will be informed where to find a key and our neighbour and cleaner are both local with spare keys and helpful information. We are also usually contactable on our mobiles, (Hidden by Airbnb) , FaceTime and by email. We are surrounded by farms and woods. We often have our farmer neighbours' cows or thoroughbred racehorse in our front paddock. We are 7 - 20 minutes from a number of beaches and coves as well as the pretty traditional village and harbour of Port Patrick from where, for hikers, the Southern Upland Way begins it's journey across Scotland to the east coast. We are a 45 min drive from the UK's largest National Park, the Galloway Forest National Park, which includes a major mountain bike circuit for leisure and competition. We have several gardens and estates close by with public access as well as castles, for example Castle Kennedy and Logan Botanical Gardens. Several golf corses are are very nearby, including the world famous Turnberry Hotel and Golf course. Two ferry companies sail to Northern Ireland - Belfast and Larne - from Cairnryan which is only about 8 miles from the property. Your own car is advisable, though local taxis are available for trips to the surrounding area. Regular ferries sail to and from from Ireland from Cairnryan 8 miles away. Guests who stay longer than 7 nights can have their accommodation cleaned and linen changed if required. Local information, wifi password and TV instructions etc. are available in a folders in the lounge.
