Luxury Loft in the Heritage area of Montagu

A luxurious loft space with skylights above and opposite the Queen bed , showing mountains or stars, a deep Victorian bath, and a kitchenette with bar fridge and microwave. Down the external staircase you have exclusive use of an enclosed courtyard with outside shower and barbecue area. We do not let out the house below you to someone else but we do use it as an art studio. On the Heritage Walk, and in easy walking distance of the art galleries, antiques shops, and a variety of restaurants. You can set out on several good hikes right from the house, short or long, including to the famed Hot Springs or the waterfall. Bring your bike and ride one of the many marked cycle routes in the surrounding mountains and valleys. Then sit in the shady courtyard after a long hot or cold outdoor shower (depending on the season), under the leafy pepper tree or night sky ... A place to rest, a central base, sheltered from the town. Caroline or Lucy will meet you at the guest house and help you get settled. You have your own off-road parking behind an electric gate, and access to the loft is up an open steel staircase from the private exclusive-use courtyard. We live diagonally across the road so you are quite private but we are easily and readily available for help or ideas or some local knowledge:) There are over a dozen listed heritage houses in Long Street alone, and the combination of history, mountain scenery and agricultural centre makes Montagu very picturesque, and unique. We have some excellent restaurants in walking distance, and seventeen or so wine farms to visit in a radius of 30km. There are a number of hiking and cycling trails, many starting in the town. Montagu is know for its rock climbing, too. Montagu is small enough to walk anywhere but you can hire bicycles around the corner, too We are currently following the AirBnB recommendations for sanitising and airing the loft between guests, on top of our cleaning routine. The rooms have hand sanitiser, masks are available on request, and we do routine temperature checks before entering the premises or greeting guests. Outside the town there are road works in progress so the traffic going past is currently regulated by Stop/Go lulls and busy patches.
