Grove Farmhouse
Grove Farm & Black Swan Barn were part of the Henniker Estate which can be traced back to the 1300’s. The farmhouse was built around 1550 and extended in the Georgian period in the 1800’s to the house you see today. It was an L shaped building which was made square. It was sold away from the Henniker estate in the 1980’s . Grove farm sits in about 12 acres of land including gardens a grass meadow with a small wood offering lovely views over the countryside towards the nearest village of Wickham Skeith. A lot of wildlife passes through the grounds all the time night and day. Three types of deer, three kinds of owls, two woodpeckers, badgers, fox, barn cats (hard to spot) and birds of prey.
