1890's Rustic Garden Level Loft

Hello! Our home is an 1890 Victorian mansion that we purchased in 2012 and lovingly renovated over three years using a team of local craftspeople and myself. This space is a quirky 1 bedroom, 1 bath garden level loft with much of its original character preserved. Located in the heart of Midtown just one block from 15+ bars and restaurants, DMC, Shinola and way more. The space is designed with leisure stays in mind but also capable of accommodating business travelers comfortably. Parking included The space features a custom cherry old-growth wood bar along with handbuilt cherry countertops. The bathroom has its own interesting character equipped with the biggest shower I've ever installed as a builder. The apartment is stocked with coffee, has an Apple TV and ultra high-speed fiber WiFi and a new but vintage dart board. The space is equipped with a modern heating system and cooling. It’s very comfortable year round. You’ll receive an access code which you’ll use on the Schlage key pad located on the door to get in. This is unit #5 and accessed from the rear of the building down the stone steps. The code will operate the turn knob on the lock and the door can be locked by putting that same code in and turning the knob on the key pad. A dedicated parking space is included with your rental. Parking is in the rear of the building in a space labeled #5. Please only park one car per unit; there is plentiful street parking on Forest Ave. or Prentis for additional vehicles. Park on an angle so that the other vehicles fit in the lot! I live in the house in one of the 5 units -- Either me or one of my helpers will be available to assist you if you need anything. Just let us know! Midtown is an exploding, vibrant neighborhood in the center of Detroit. There are so many fantastic bars, shopping opportunities, museums and restaurants within walking distance. The Wayne State Police is highly active and patrols Midtown 24/7 with a fast response rate making Midtown the safest neighborhood in Detroit and one of the safest university campuses in the nation. Midtown is a very safe, walkable neighborhood with everything just minutes away. If you need to travel further, Uber/Lyft is reliable and fast. The bus system can be hit or miss but does run frequently on Woodward Avenue. The Q-Line light rail has been operational since Fall 2017 and provides easy access to Downtown and New Center on Woodward just 1 block away. Lime, Bird and Mogo scooters/ bikes are available for rent on Prentis and 2nd Ave. Detroit airport is 20 min away! If you’d like to prepare food during your stay, Marcus Market is very close and there is also a Whole Foods a little beyond that. Comerica Park is located approximately 1.5 miles away. It’s a safe walk down Woodward Avenue or a very quick Uber/Lyft.
