Mid-island, this rustic cabin is perfect for any couple (or small group) shacking up in the woods. Features a full kitchen inside, outhouse, outdoor shower, fire pit, covered porch & access to pebble beach trails, making this a magical retreat. Please note that there is no wi-fi at the cabin and no cell reception making this cabin experience a great way to unplug and connect with nature. This is a great little round cabin in the woods. You will sleep in the loft with a window that swings out and lets you breath in the forest. The kitchen has a small bar fridge, sink and two burner propane stove. There is a small propane oven that works wonderfully but is tricky to operate; make sure to take a photo of the operating instructions located in the guest manual before you come. There is a space heater in case it gets cold. The kitchen is stocked with basic dishes and pots and pans. We provide a stove top coffee maker; you bring your coffee already ground and anything you take in your coffee :-) There are floor to ceiling windows on one side that open right out and a sky light. There is also a basic pullout couch that can sleep two. This couch bed allows for friends to come, but is about as comfy as you might expect from a couch bed in a rustic cabin in the woods. The cabin is small but beautifully sweet. The cabin is 200sq feet. It is perfect for two people. If you bring 4 people, it will work and keeps the price lower, but be prepared to get cozy. Only bring people you like :-) There is also space for up to two vehicles to park. Your little cabin is out of sight of our house. It is all yours. You may access our trail to pebble beach. You will have your own parking spot. The deck, fire pit, shower and outhouse are also private to your cabin. We will provide tourist information and maps in the cabin. Please feel free to come up to the house in case of an emergency. Otherwise we value your privacy and ours. Thank-you. We are located mid-island within a 20 minute walk of beautiful pebble beach (a great swimming beach) in one direction and a 20 minute walk to retreat cove cave and government dock in the other direction. We do have parking for you. You should know that there is no public transit on Galiano Island, however, hitchhiking is a fully acceptable way to get around on Galiano. If you don't mind hills, then it is also only an hour and a half by bike. We are a 20 minute drive from the ferry. Galiano is a remote place. Please be aware that in the winter months power outages due to weather are common and beyond our control. In case of a power outage you will still have candles for light (which I provide), the propane stove will work and the fridge will act as a cooler. In a power outage the water does not work anywhere on the island because our wells are on electric pumps. I always leave a large glass container of water in the cabin for such emergencies. Power outages are usually sorted out fairly quickly. I just want you to be aware that they are a possibility. If there are fire warnings, depending on the season, we ask that you protect our home and our island by not using the fire pit or smoking outside and generally using your common sense. The hot water tank in the cabin is small. You can have hot showers, but know that they will be short :-)
