Clean, Modern Studio in Historic Oak Park
Located in historic Oak Park, a short ride to Chicago, this basement studio is perfect for the tourist, family or business traveler. This rental is NOT the entire house, but a unit with a separate entrance. Enjoy the privacy of a remodeled, beautiful studio while appreciating historic architecture nearby. With multiple Historic Landmark homes nearby (including one right next door), our 1923 Tudor is the perfect home base when Chicagoland is your destination. We hope you will enjoy our remodeled, freshly furnished basement apartment. We have worked hard to ensure that our studio is comfortable, clean and supplied with all the basic necessities. We are happy to be able to offer you a plush mattress, plentiful blankets and pillows, and cozy cotton sheets. We don’t allow pets in the space so that all our guests have an allergy free experience and we don’t have any conflict between our medium size dog and guest animal. Thanks for understanding. Since this unit is part of the house you will hear noises from around the property. If your looking for an isolated hotel type experience this space is not for you. The studio has easy accessibility through a gate at the side of the house. There is also plenty of street parking. Full disclosure about all the charming quirks of a historic home... **Weather disclosure** Between Nov and March our almost 100 year old house uses a radiator to heat the home. Between the hours of 9am-8pm you might hear some slight banging. I assure you, they are not ghosts! During late summer months the space can get a little warm. We don’t have air conditioning since basement + air = mold. We provide fans and there is an exhaust system. As is also the case with charming old houses, there are some creaks and squeaks that come along with the charm. You might hear some foot steps above as the basement apartment is part of the house. The ceilings are sufficiently tall but if you are on the taller side it might feel a little cramped. We also have one well trained and very loving dog that lives upstairs. We usually let her out the front, but be aware that it is possible you might meet your furry host on occasion.
