Up Over Head, Manor Farm, Pendeen
Up Over Head is part of a 13th century Manor House set in a farm on the cliffs of Pendeen. This is a most rural setting so very peaceful and set away from the main village activity. Manor farm used to be a working Dairy Farm but is now a much more sedate beef farm. The cottage sleeps two with it's own shower room, kitchen and lounge and is in easy walking distance of beautiful coves, mines, archaeological sites a 4000 year old Fogou being one of them (nestled in the corner of the farmyard). Two storey self contained property in Pendeen. Downstairs is only one room and is a Kitchen/dining/lounge which features a fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine. TV/DVD combi with built in freeview (we only get a small selection of freeview channels but we hope you haven't come to Pendeen just to watch TV). There is a dining table with two chairs, normal range of crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils. Open tread stairs to first floor, these are steep wooden steps which came from a shipwreck, we love these stairs and are they are fine for able bodied people but have made a couple of our more anxious guest a tad nervous in the past, we have included a picture in the listing. Sleeps two people. Large double bedroom with ample storage. Shower room including basin and toilet. Property has night Storage Heating This property does not have internet access. A short walk to Pendeen village where there are two pubs, a shop, a pottery, Geevor Mine and more! In the other direction you can head to the coastal path or one of our lovely beaches. Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything you need during your stay. Pendeen was a large mining village. Although the mine closed in 1990 Pendeen has not lost its character. There is plenty to see and do and is surrounded by beautiful scenery. There are two pubs which both serve real ale and food. Our local shop 'Boscaswell stores' is a great little convenience shop or you could travel to nearby St Just for the local butchers and fruit & veg shop. Your own car is optimal but there is a good bus service from Pendeen and the coastal walks are spectacular and invigorating. Natural water supply from our spring (filtered). Parking for 1 car. No smoking. This property was used in the 1975 series of Poldark! The property itself is nearly 900 years old but we also have an Iron Age Fogou (or Vau) just yards away from the cottage, see here for more details Please note: We love pets but ask for you to bring small dogs and please do not leave them in the cottage alone.
