Le Coquelicot-Gite in the Beautiful Normandy Countryside for Families and Couple

Our gites are located in a converted barn adjacent to our home; with a large lawned area to the front and a fully-enclosed garden to the rear there is plenty of room to relax in the Normandy sunshine. Each gite comfortably accommodates up to six guests in three bedrooms and can be booked together for larger parties. Le Coquelicot was reappointed in 2013. Upstairs, bedroom one has a comfortable king-size bed, with a good-sized wardrobe and a chest of drawers; bedroom two is similarly furnished but has a double bed; bedroom three is a twin bedded room with a dressing table and a large rail for clothes. All three rooms are bright and airy, and have small electric radiators for those chillier nights. There is a spacious shower room on this floor with ample storage for all your toiletries. Downstairs is a large open plan living-area with a large sofa and easy chairs to sit six, a dining table seating six, and a well-appointed kitchen with a dishwasher and a washing-machine, a full size cooker, and an under-counter fridge with a small freezer compartment.. There is a tv in the lounge area with the full-range of UK channels and a dvd player (we are more than happy for guests to browse through our dvd collection if they wish), and a well-stocked bookshelf with a good variety of novels to suit most tastes. At the rear of the property, each gite has a patio area with a garden table and chairs, and a barbecue. Judicious planting helps to screen the two areas for added privacy. The remainder of the garden is shared by each gite, and has a swing set for the under 12s, a large grassy area for outdoor games, a see-saw, and our popular above-ground pool with its own seating area. The pool is unheated, and whilst not large, it does provide an opportunity for a cooling dip in the summer months. The rear garden is fully enclosed, and whilst we request that all children are supervised in the pool and the pool area, the garden itself is secure. In the unconverted section of the barn is an upstairs games room with table tennis, table football, darts and a variety of outdoor games. This room is used by guests from both gites. At the front of the property is a large parking area used by all our guests and a further garden area. This is mainly laid to lawn but has a number of seating areas (a hammock, garden swing, and picnic benches). The lawn is ideal for badminton or even croquet, but this is a lovely spot in which to simply sit and while away the hours! The gites sit well back from the road, which is mostly used by the local farmers, making La Maison Sans Souci a peaceful place to stay. Please note that guests aged over 18 are required to pay a local visitors tax (taxe de sejour) which is currently set at 85 cents per person per night.
