Ollivanders Estate is a Guesthouse set on an Equestrian Estate close to Hillcrest. Rose Cottage 1 is located within the estate and offers guests accommodation in a quiet and tranquil setting. The cottage is cosy and quaint with a private entrance. There are tea and coffee making facilities, a private en-suite bathroom with toilet, shower and handbasin. The gardens offer beautiful views over the Shongweni Dam and conservancy. The Guesthouse is located on an Equestrian Estate and our horses are part of the family. They are free to walk around the Guesthouse. We also have dogs and cats, which are very friendly and love attention. The Estate comprises of 25 acres, with a viewing deck overlooking the conservancy. We host weddings and conferences, together with any formal or casual get togethers. Guests can access the function venue, entertainment room, or the grounds within the Estate. Guests thoroughly enjoy the peace and tranquility and although we are available 24/7, we allow them to have their private space without intruding. The Estate is next door to the Shongweni Farmers Market which is open every saturday from 6 am to 11:30 am. This market attracts visitors from far and wide, and boasts over 250 stalls offering unique and interesting products, food and drinks. The Shongweni Dam is only 7 minutes drive from Ollivanders, the dam is situated within a wildlife conservancy and offers a range of game viewing options, as well as canoeing, swimming, absailing and other exciting activities. The bustling towns of Hillcrest, Kloof, Gillitts, Botha's Hill and Westville are a mere 7 to 15 minute drive from the Guesthouse and provide plenty of opportunity for those guests who enjoy shopping, sight seeing or visiting coffee shops and other interesting outlets. Phezulu Safari Park is located in Botha's Hill, 15 minutes away. Zulu Dancing, Birds of Prey, Crocodile farm and game viewing are just a few of the activities available within close proximity. The Valley of a Thousand Hills is a popular tourist attraction, offering interesting drives with beautiful views of local area and many fascinating cultural activities. Although a distant seaview may be seen from various points on the estate, it is a 25 minute drive to the Durban beachfront. A popular day trip for local and international travellers, Ushaka Marine is a world class Marine world, which has brought together cultures, like no other place in Africa – into a safe, secure and clean environment that resonates the sound of fun, laughter and the spirit of togetherness. Entertainment is non-stop, extending from the daytime operations of Sea World, Wet ‘n Wild, and uShaka Beach, to the night time festivities of the Village Walk. We offer free parking in the open parking spaces provided.
