Chesapeake Bay Cliffs Getaway

Our beach getaway is perched on a 80-foot cliff overlooking the Chesapeake Bay near Solomons, MD. Relax at the house and soak up the view or stroll on the beach and hunt for prehistoric sharks' teeth. Our house is located in a secluded historic community called Scientists' Cliffs which abuts the archeologically significant Calvert Cliffs. Privacy and peaceful living are the watchwords of our community. The house was recently completely renovated and decorated with funishings that we feel bring out the unique character of the house and its setting. You can walk to the beach directly below our property and walk for several miles in either direction, depending on the tides. There is also a private beach you can drive to with a boat ramp. We will reach out to you before your arrival to make sure you know where you are going and to give you a brief overview of the property and surrounding area. We will also check in with you after you leave to ensure that your visit was all that you wanted it to be. The area was historically filled with tobacco farms--this was the predominant livelihood of area residents for generations. Tobacco farming is now gone, but the natural beauty of the area (and particularly the might Chesapeake) remains. The Bay remains a vibrant source of economic activity for fishing, crabbing and oysters. Not applicable. Our house is not suitable to o families with children under 5 years old. There are internal stairs and the house sits on a cliff without any barrier. We also have nice furnishings which we expect our guests to appreciate and protect.
