The cottage sits in a secluded corner on the organic farm at Coyote Creek. The small house has a full kitchen, washer/dryer, a spacious shower and a sun room. The cottage has a king bed, a full bed, a twin bed and a queen air mattress. The cottage is a great place to get away to the country while you still have all the comforts of home. You will get to see sheep, a llama, cows and chickens as you walk or drive up the farm driveway. The Cottage at Coyote Creek sits on a 90 acre working organic farm. We're home to 22,000 laying hens that produce Jeremiah Cunningham's World's Best Eggs brand pasture raised organic eggs. We have a small herd of cattle, a flock of sheep, a llama, 3 sheep dogs, and are home to our favorite cow Jolene. The Cottage is a 2 room house in a secluded corner of the farm. The house sits on half an acre with an area of mowed grass in the front of the house with taller grass around the sides and edges and behind. The house is fully furnished. The main room consists of a kitchen, living room, small dining area, and king size bed. The main room also has storage, a couch, a Roku TV and Wifi. The kitchen has a coffee pot, a toaster oven, a microwave, and a full sized refrigerator. The sun room has large windows on 3 sides and has 2 lazy boy chairs, and a full and twin bed. The bathroom has a spacious shower, an antique vanity and an eco-friendly composting toilet. See more about the composting toilet below. The cozy front porch has chairs for enjoying the sunset. One of our guest’s favorite activities has been taking walks up toward the entrance road. From the road you can usually get a good look at our cattle, sheep, chickens and the Dread Pirate Roberts aka Westley, our llama. We also have 3 friendly dogs at the farm house that may come for a visit or join you on a walk. We would love to host you for a relaxing and peaceful stay at our farm. The composting toilet is made by a company called Separett. The toilet works much like a "regular" toilet with a few differences. First, both men and women sit for either toilet activity (solid & liquid). When one sits on the Separett toilet, a trap door automatically opens allowing solid waste to fall down into the collection bin while liquid waste goes forward into a separate (hence Separett) chamber. It's that simple. We understand that the composting toilet can be a bit intimidating for some, but don't worry, it's an eco friendly way to handle waste on an organic farm, and once you give it a try you'll see the differences from a regular" toilet are small and negligible. Any questions about the toilet or any other part of the farm, feel free to ask, we're happy to help. Guests are encouraged to take walks up the driveway and visit with the cows, chickens, sheep and llamas. There is a mowed yard area that has clumps of mesquite trees with longer grass, a few elms and a concrete bench. The sides, back, and edges of the yard are not mowed. There are chairs on the porch where you can relax and enjoy the sunset. If you need anything just let us know! The cottage is located 5 minutes from the small, friendly town of Elgin, the sausage capital of Texas where you'll find, fantastic bar-b-q, Mexican food, soul food, a coffee shop and other fun places to shop and experience. We're 19 miles from the Rodeo and Fairgrounds at the Travis Co. Expo. center, 20 miles from Circuit of the Americas race track, and 22 miles from downtown Austin. It is 30 Minutes to the Airport. Parking is close to the house. There is plenty of room for multiple vehicles. There are a few steps up to the front porch and one step inside the house to the sunroom. Chaco, and Shep are our older farm dogs and they will probably come by to say hi! Luna the Big Tuna is our all white Great Pyr. She's a bit people shy but sweet as they come. The dogs are not allowed indoors but may join you on a walk or on the porch for breakfast.
