Walk its ancient walls, discover the Roman remains and experience 21st Century shopping in the unique half-timbered medieval ‘Rows’ at the city’s heart. Town: The countryside surrounding Tarporley is perfect walking terrain, the famous Sandstone Trail, one of the best of the shorter long-distance trails in the north of England, passes close to the town. The village has also become something of a shopper’s haven. Further afield lies Chester, which has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in and around the famous Tudor 'Rows' and walks along the Roman Walls.
